If you actually read my post you would see that there is reasons for them to go back on a constant basis through out the week. No one is getting all their gear out of the first 5 bags they get. Right now Ilum attendance is down to a minimum because whatever faction is outnumbered does not want to go there. You don't want everyone there all the time that would create the same problems that it already has. Your comments have no use in this thread find somewhere else to cry. And if you are a "hardcore PVPer" as you claim to be then you would know the most satisfying pvp is when you overcome odds in small scale fights and thats where you would go to have fun once you have your gear. Unless you only want your gear to sit afk in the capital.

They are not going to disable Ilum. Thats completely out of the question. This thread is about how to improve it and nothing else.
No. Ilum isn't down to a minimum. My whole server Imperial side is here and there are 20 republic players miserably trying to get their dailies done, and can't. We're ****** them and getting 200 valor per kill. All day long. So stop your ******** because I'm not crying. Hardcore PvP is not world large scale fights, so *** are you talking about. That's not satisfying PvP. 10 vs 20 is not satisfying PvP.

And you need to understand the fact that shutting down Ilum to prevent this until they figure out something that works is not "unconstructive extremism".

It's simple and it should do. By the time they implement something new there won't be a need for worlld PvP. Everyone will max out their valor ranks (ESPECIALLY IMPERIALS) while Rebels will be undergeared, underranked and continue to not want to PvP. You have absolutely no idea what you're saying.

You understand the fact that that is NOT WHAT THIS THREAD IS ABOUT. There are plenty of "shut down ilum" posts to fill this role. If they shut it down till its ready thats fine, but they are not going to do that. You are welcome to go add to one of those posts. This thread is about how to improve it. You are off topic and out of line.

Didn't see this thread before I posted my suggestion on a new one but here's mine. Link at
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=231390

I've been getting quite frustrated at the way Ilum is implemented (biggest Zerg group wins) and thought of an idea to balance this. I do apologize if it's been mentioned before as I don't frequent here all the time.

I think there should be a diminishing power system for large groups in Ilum. Ilum is essentially divided into 5 zones (imperial, north, central, south, republic). For each additional player above a certain number (say 24 for example) in each zone, all players get their powers diminished by an increasing percentage, sorta like a reverse Expertise penalty. When it reaches a certain number (say 48), all the players in the zone will get their powers reduced to zero (or a lower limit of maybe 20%).

This penalty should not be in place for both the imperial and republic bases so we can ensure incoming players won't affect this and each faction can sufficiently defend their own base. There should also be a ticker to show the number of players in your own faction in each zone at any point of time. In addition, there should be a booting system similar to the AFK booting system to prevent AFK players from affecting this number in each zone.

The numbers can be tweaked for balance but I believe this would solve the zerging issue bothering both factions. It's not fun on either sides (waiting in base or outside base to gain valor). I believe this change would make Ilum into the multiple capping epic world pvp area that it was meant to be. Thank you and hope you guys like this suggestion.

Griefing doesn't make you cool. It doesn't make you better player. All it does is tell the rest of the world that you are not someone worth knowing.

Yes, back on track.

I agree with what was put in your post as well. The thing that needs to be remembered is all 3 main points need to be addressed. Zerging, grinding, and non-variety. As long as all 3 of those are addressed, any set of fixes will do. They all need to work well together. For example the post about the zone wide buff would not work well with my set of fixes cause then you have super buff republic running around killing solo, 2, and 3 man groups with ease. Although the buff fix would work with another set of fixes that doesn't spread people so thin.

the lag on llum is ridiculous fix the lag, and fix the game so there can be a bigger population pvping for the sake of endgame fun.
