We Want Later (earlier) Maintenance!

To be fair, at least on the US side it does seem to cut into peak hours a bit. From what I remember It's only a bit *after* midnight that the population takes a nosedive

And I'd assume on the EU side the server population starts to pick up before 6pm. But as "single downtime" solutions go, the current time *is* probably optimal. It's probably cutting into peak hours by less than an hour either side.

My realm has a large Oceanic population. Peak hours for my realm are exactly when downtime happens. No sooner, no later. Exactly during peak hours.

I'm West Coast people, I have no problem with midnight; certainly I play past then some nights, but not being able to once a week falls well short of making me suicidal.

I love all the hyperbolic rhetoric people use to somehow display that server maintanence downtimes are some great tragedy...really people? If you can't take a break for one day, you need to getout more.

No clue? What game have you been playing, but it's not the one I have. Every TOR maintenance so far (you know, that thing everyone here is complaining about) has included patches. Every one. You know how often that's true of other games? Yep, there are patches every time, too.

You can do the kind of maintenance you're talking about (which is a completely different kind of maintenance than the one being discussed, and completely irrelevant) at any time.

We're talking about patch maintenance here. It's really ironic that you're coming in here and spouting irrelevant nonsense and then accusing someone else of being stupid.

They are not two different things. The maintenances are so they can patch. Again, what you're saying is not relevant to this topic in any way.

This is possible now, unless they're patching. And what happens during every maintenance? They patch. I realize you're all puffed up and proud of yourself for your logic and reasoning skills, and I hate to break this to you, but you're totally ignoring reality here.

So, once a week players are forced to go to bed at a proper hour. Deal with it.

This type of thread was classic in WOW... every Tuesday, someone would post this and everyday there was a debate about what time maintenance should occur and about why it took so long lol.

There was also a conspiracy about how patching the servers and taking them down only took 1 hour, the other 5 hours was to let the gold farmers in for a bit to get first dibs and they would get a 20% cut.

Im west coast, and i play normally until 3-4 AM. So personally its annoying to have to get off 3-4 hours earlier, but no big deal.

it definitely cuts into a time when most players are still on tho, whenever it shuts down theres around 180 people in fleet, whereas peak times is around 210. Still lots of people on, Im curious how many people play at 8AM western time, when the servers are back up, on normal non maintenance days. It does seem a little bit early. I would wager more people play at midnight-2am then play from 8am-10am.

That isn't actually true. I've played plenty of MMO's that have weekly maintenance where the servers are only down for an hour or two (defragging, replacing hard drives, backing up data... no real idea what exactly their "maintenance" entails) and they aren't actually patching anything.

The time they have set for mantainence is perfect. It is not logical to move it from when you play, because then there would be 10 people for every one of you.

You play late at night, sorry but that is the most obvious time for maintenance. It's only once a week normally, you will survive just like myself and everyone else
