I see complaints about this game's maint all the time. This game's maint happens during prime time on my realm (The Swiftsure). It's ridiculous. It should be 4 hours later. And don't bring up Europe, Europe should have a different maintenance schedule. That's absolutely obvious.
never saw complaints...were you reading the WoW forums with your eyes open or were you using the force? Oh wait, wrong game. People did nothing but complain about maintenance in wow, mostly because it never ended when it was supposed to and the game was, for the most part, basically unplayable for 2-3 days following said maintenance.

You ran here too fast and shook all the Wow stink off in the process. And yes, people complained about the time it was done as well as it's inevitable weekly extension period. Get over it, do something else for those 6 hours. It's one fricken day of the week. If you can't handle 6 hours one day out of 7, you're in serious need of a Life Coach.

Not sure why they don't split maintenance by region, but current times can already go into EU prime time if it needs to be extended. IIRC SWG had separate downtimes for NA/EU servers, and we could freely switch between them like we can in TOR.

True fact of life is that the world revolves around people that work normal daytime hours, and most of those people are in bed at 12:01 am on Tuesday because they work in the morning. You're going to inconvenience SOMEBODY no matter what time you do it.
You are playing a frickin video game.
You are not hardcore by any reasonable definition.

Hmm, how do you get that? Even Hawaii and Alaska are 3 hours back at the moment. You are 4 hours back. Where do you live?

Anyway, the time is fine. It works, for the most part, for all regions of the world. Not perfect, but not that bad.

I know that CE is in here somewhere

lol I actually live in Hawaii, we're 4 hours back from CST and 2 from PST (during DST even an hour more so then the shutdown will actually be at 9pm my time). Alaska is indeed 3 hours back

Sure, I can live with the downtime and I do not have a real complaint about it either, there is lots of other games I can play during that time and otherwise would be neglected. However, when I see people complain about the times not being right and how the US has it perfect, I do like to point out it isn't perfect for the whole US. My complaint really is only about those complainers, if we had the times they are having, it would be a lot more better (well, for me anyways lol, I have no time to play during daytime).

If it were to be perfect for the entire US, as most complainers state, BW should do the maintenance on the PST servers at least 2 hours later (making it 2am for the server and midnight for me (still 2 hrs too early for my taste but at least I would be able to get my fix on for a few hours lol).

As a west coaster with a day job, spouse, kid, and non-gaming life, I detest the 12AM patch times since I can only play late night. But I guess there is no way to do it without affecting some demographic.

Uhhhhh no, WoW came up early if anything. And no, I was a heavy poster on the WoW boards, no one complained about the time frame that maintenance was applied in (which is not even remotely what you started babbling about).

If maintenance in this game happened during, say, Friday, Saturday or Sunday then I wouldn't complain. I'd be out doing things. Since it happens on the BEST night of the week for me to play DURING MY PRIMETIME then I WILL complain. And it IS a dealbreaker and is getting me to consider dropping this game. WoW's times are literally infinitely better, why pay to play a WoW clone that has ridiculous maintenance times (midnight on PST? If I wasn't EST I'd have already quit this game) when I can just play WoW and actually play it instead of sit there during maintenance?

On my realm, the only time there's a queue is after midnight PST. That's when the realm shifts gears from very heavy to full and you can tell the difference, Republic Fleet will go from 150 players to over 200 players. All during the normal maintenance hours. It's an absurd decision. Maintenance is FAR too early in the night. No other game I play does this. Maintenance is always very early in the morning. Not at midnight.

On my days off, sometimes I'll get a lot of gametime in and the timeframe when this game has the least amount of players logged on is 7 am EST to 5 pm EST. Maintenance should happen in that window.

lol ok...wow came up early....you go with that. And if you're going to quit over maintenance and not one of the abundantly more annoying things like bugs and broken mechanics then please, let me hold the door open so it doesn't smack you in the head on the way out. The community will probably be better off without delusions.
