In any case, they have to become visible when the chest opens, so just report them when that happens. They'll be dealt with eventually.
I have posted a couple of videos that are muddled in this thread some where. And like I have said over the course of 17 days I have reported the same people daily and others have to, yet they remain afk looting chests.

You need to understand that Bioware makes no money banning hackers. They do make money from the hackers' accounts as long as they don't find ways of bypassing subscription.
In fact, your life does flash in front of your eyes before death.
The process is known as "living".

A good portion of the community see's the game needs polishing. But overall Bioware still needs 6 months of fine tuning.

Theory this, if the game is so good. Then why have people left. If the game was running smoothly then why can't a simple, simple, simple level requirement be met for something as simple as a chest on illum. Then all a low level could do was hook up with lvl 50 pvp buddies and help score himself some serious valor.

Now how long might it be before lvl requirements for valor count in illum. Gotcha there folks.
>.< This post just spills ignorant out onto the street and I am the one to clean it up.

Simple, people quit games, if WoW is so good why did they lose what 1.5-2 million subs up til now? People leave for other reasons.

Something you think is simple might not actually be.

You do know that there are not millions of hackers right? so banning a couple thousand has no affect whatsoever.

It never stops to amaze me how moderators (and occasionally BW reps) are quick to respond to threads like (oh noes! slicing nerf is baaad / operatives are OP!!!!) but when they are presented HARD evidence of exploits (seriously ppl... vidos of hack, countless petitions... what else can we use for this fact to be even more obvious?!) .... they just pretend they do not see it. When I played Aion and saw COUNTLESS bots (seriously .. there were hosts of those farming nodes, farming nobs etc) I thhought it was bad but at the same time I knew that I was playing a korean type mmo so devs vere not that much inclined to do anything abt that sh@t.
When I started playing SW I though: "cool! ppl always said that Blizz had awesome support and stomped botters pretty fast (mind you never played wow, but that's what I heard) so as BW is also not a korean dev I should expect same in Star Wars". And now we have this .... Kinda sad.

Oh I am sure BW will later say: we were monitoring the situation (remember, dear players, we did the same for Illum!) and have punished the ones responsible .... with a horrible 1-4 day ban. Ohhhh..... let the botter feel the powah! Oh well ...

But not exactly what I had in mind. You are making credits for yourself, yes. But you are generating ZERO credits into the economy. All you credits come from people doing dailies, selling junk, exploitinf chests, etc.

I would be really interested in how much people generate via dailies. In other words RAW credits coming into economy every day.

Let's assume 20mil per day can be made from exploiting. That's pretty rough estimation I think, but that will do for now.

What I'm really interested in, how this relates to amont of credits other players make by other means? Is it 10%, 5%, less than 1%? Because if it's 10%, yea, it's economy breaking, you go away from game for a week, and prices double when you return. If it's less then 1% - you will never ever notice it.

From what I see, I think it's closer to later, because right now prices on GTN seem pretty stagnant to me. Ideas?
The problem is that in your view, you do not see past the in-game impact.

A lot of the farmer types use methods that impact people outside of the game and have real world consequences. Not counting, of course, the in-game impact they have as well.

Hacked accounts
The farming outfits have no qualms about hacking into other players accounts to steal from them, use the accounts for spamming advertising, mules for money or item transfers, farming activities, etc... This obviously will impact the original owner of the account, but there is also other impacts. The gaming company has to investigate the claims, which takes people and real world dollars to fund. Dollars that get rolled into the costs that the player base pays as a part of the cost of doing business. Back end code may need to be created to counter measures the farmers utilize, which also takes head count, and thus more real world dollars. Depending on how determined the farmers are, it can be very cold war like, as each side is constantly countering the other.

Another method can be hacked or stolen game redemption codes. Which, also take head count to investigate, which leads to a real world dollar cost. And, when third parties are utilized for distribution of the codes, the investigations can take longer.

Stolen Credit cards
Farmers also utilize stolen credit cards to sign up to games with. If caught by the card holder, this will be a charge back cost that has to be investigated by both the banks and the game company. Once again, it takes people to do this, which is a real world dollar cost associated with head count. And, if the charge back is proven accurate, its not only a cost to the company, but now a lost revenue and stolen product/service. This is a cost that neither the victim company or the banks do for free out of the goodness of their hearts. Costs for this are also passed along to the paying consumer as cost of business and fees.

Nick Ryan has a very good series of articles titled "Gold Trading Exposed" that was published in Eurogamer.net a few years ago. You might want to check them out if you think that such activity has no impact on games or outside the world.
