Arena

I take it you've never actually tried arena and still thought you'd share your 2 cents.

You go ahead and try high rated 3v3 and 5v5 brackets. Its alot more about strategy than queuing up WZ and hammer away on the opposing faction.

Its very tiresom to listen to your assumtions your obviously a PvE player who rarely enters pvp or you are a pvp who thinks that telling people to defend left or right gate is that much more strategy.

Fact is when so many players are gathered in a WZ it actually takes some strategy away because there are so many variables. 5 players nuking 1 player = dead, very short version hope you get the point.

arena was awesome. yes there are class imbalances, but imbalance is there in warzones and world pvp as well. competitive pvpers enjoy arena because it is the most balanced and controlled environment for pvp. there is also a lot of room for strategy. i don't even care whether there are rewards for arena, set up a ranking system and people will play.

Sure arena made things hard, but im sure there is ways to work around that. If there is a seperate ''talent'' system for Arena/pvp or something.
Cause as much pain as arena brought, it also brought alot of competitiveness and coverage.

Just because Blizzard ''failed'' (which I dont think they did) doesnt mean it cant be done. Blizzard cries in that post because they constantly have to monitor balance, probably annoying ye, but by simply having pvp its gonna be the same deal. Remember Imperial Agents ? Created quite a fuzz didn't it. But I guess thats a not a balance issue, and if it was, the fix wouldnt affect PvE aswell?

Arenas are great fun I will agree but it also helped contribute to what you see in wow today... a lifeless world with zero interaction outside the major cities.

Theres a lot of reason why wow is what wow is today, like being 7 years old..

Arena is the evil that some people remember and thereby use it as an easy scapegoat.

NO TO ARENA! a few people in a box fighting is NOT fun..... I rest my case..... I really hate arena and always have!
I played arena in wow, not since i enjoyed it i hated it... But since blizztard forced you to do arena, if you wanted best gear + titles.... SO STUPID! i mean we pay to play these games every month, should'nt we have some rights? Especially since the game came out with NO arena, at least they did not need to make battlegrounds a joke "a place to farm trinckets for arena and blue CRAP gear....."

And before you think "oh this kid prob only had 1300 rating in arena, you will be wrong! i had gladiator title in s3, and rating was never the issue, just the system is BORING! like i said before it felt like chess, and even if people love that, don't bring it into the game. Especially when the game comes out WITH NO ARENA! suddenly ALL focus is on that crap? ....... SO STUPID! battlegrounds, Warzones is whats FUN pvp, + world pvp of course, and one more thing, i hope it NEVER will be flying mount in Star Wars.

And you'd be wrong.

There is more strategy, remember when I said how and when to engage is a big part of combat? Yeah, arena doesn't have that.

Bottom line is Warzones/larger PvP has everything arena does and a whole lot more. After playing DAoC for a couple years going into a box was a HUGE step backwards. I did pretty well. Got the hot streak achievement for 3v3. It's all comp/gear, that's it. Very basic in terms of setup. I found it insanely repetitive.

Arena, by design, removes a ton of the variables and in an mmorpg that's removing half the fun. I'm not saying there is zero skill involved, but as a combat medium it's incredibly basic.

So because you HATE arena NO ONE can have it? selfish.

Also the arguement about gear and titles, you can turn that around and say: HEY I think its unfair that people who bother/is able to raid should be rewarded with better gear than those who cant.

Its your problem selfish kid, if you dont like the fact that other people who put effort into something and gets rewarded for it, suddenly have better gear than you, then you should stick to single player

In that case I am utterly amazed that you can come to the conclusion that you have.

More than 3v3 and 5v5 makes it VERY difficult to have an overview of the battle, hence abilities and such will not be used in the same tactical/strategic way.

Fact is that the general strategy of pvp is go lef/right/middle, interrupt capping & and kill healers. Sure you could team up with guildies but in large scale clashes things a gonna get unorganized - you have to admit this?
