Important 1.1 graphics test

Nevermind, I had a question, but it didn't make sense. lolz

Nope made mine run worse; just face it the game needs a massive patch/overhaul to be playable. It's a joke that beast rigs are resorting to "oh hai i went from 15 fps to 20 /clap problem solved."


Stop wishing it was solved and put some presusre on BW to get this **** fixed. I know we all want to imagiane that moving your files around and resetting you graphins has done something marvelous - it hasn't.

Serious problems exist in this game and you have to give up the illusion its better and demand it becomes better.

i follwed these steps and while it has made my fps better, its still not the same as it used to be before the patch, before the patch i could run the game at full graphics, useing these steps i can now play the game but it only seems to work on the lowest settings and space missions are still a no go. playable atm but i geuss these steps work better deppending on peoples computers. if anyone give me feed back on their performances in space and land that would be greatful

My rig: pre-built iBUYPOWER Gamer 913i (Sandy Bridge Intel Core i3 2120 @ 3.3GHz, 8 GB DDR3 @1333MHz, 500 GB Sata II HDD, XFX GeForce 9500 GT 512 MB DDR2)
I get good performance ~15 - 60 fps with Shadows Off, AA Off, V-Sync On, Textures High, Character Detail High, Filter Low, Grass & Trees 30%.
The 15 drops are when there is alot of particles (smoke stacks etc.) I've had spikes up into the 70's. This game is playable for me. Space is playable as well, I ran 2 space missions lastnight on my Knight. I didn't have the FPS meter up but there wasn't any stuttering, slideshow, or any of the other complaints that I've read about in the CS forums.
I have the Beta drivers from nVidia (290.53) and all my other drivers are up to date. I also run the launcher under Admin Mode & WinXP (SP3) Compat mode. My Monitor is set to scale itself through my nVidia CP.
I run MSI Afterburner and have only adjusted the fan speed from the auto (50%) to 70%.
I'm sure the fan speed isn't needed, but I'm trying to keep it cooler than normal, as everything in my rig is still stock less the video card, and I mean that as shipped from iBUYPOWER (The Fan on my processor is an after market heat sink fan).
My display is a Gateway 19" Monitor that can display 1440x900 in 720p HD, connected via a DVI.
I run the game at native desktop resolution.

I have been trying all sorts of things to try and improve my fps. Updating ati drivers, downgrading them. Forcing settings in catalyst control center. Who would of thought this would make such a drastic improvement. I am getting 20-40fps improvement across the board and my graphics card is actually running a bit cooler. weird.

Sweet Jesus you are my savior! My game is now playable again. Question: What do we do with the 2 files that we moved to desktop? Should I delete them or just leave them there?

I'm still waiting for the magic bullet from BW though cause my FPS in Fleet and WZ's is horrible (I have the low GPU usage issue reported by many).

I'm really hoping its a driver issue and nvidia and BW are working on it.
