Nobody is ever in Outlaw's Den. I don't think most people even know about it. The one time I did run into someone, we just went about our business (I'm on a PvE server).

From an RP perspective, that was the first time in the game that I felt the same tension, from gameplay, that a real lawless smuggler would probably feel all the time. Anyone could start shooting at any time; better stay alert and be fast on the draw.

Now, if you had actually run into a griefer who was killing you over and over again on an RP server, then you might have a valid concern. However, that didn't happen.

You weren't forced to do anything; the game just toggled a flag for 5 minutes.

Why learn to play when you can just come to the forums?

well, it also provided that you walked 15 meters, got killed, got up and walked 15 meters, got killed again and so on. a lot of the supposedly 'hardcore' pvp dudes from our guild that had had been watering at the mouth for it had to reroll in the 3rd week of launch.

You sure about that? Because you're wrong.

Apparently the 'intended' route which a particular class (Smuggler in this case) has to take for getting to a particular companion quest (corso in this case) passes from a ffa pvp zone. alternatives are guarded by level 50 imperial champion npcs.

while it is apparently possible for the player to run through the npc zone, get killed in the process, and rez again and continue its path, it is evident that the intended route for this quest passes from the ffa pvp zone.

that was probably intended as a means to 'encourage' world pvp.

............

i dont like world pvp. i dont want to pvp. if i wanted to pvp, i would roll on a pvp server. i havent rolled on a pvp server. i have rolled on a rp server.

therefore, i dont like being forced into pvp. and im telling this as a gamer who spent the last decade mainly doing pvp.

...............

players dont like being forced to other playstyles. and it is utterly, utterly stupid to force players to adhere to another group's playstyle and taste, in order to accommodate the other.

do NOT force players into playstyles they dont like.
no teres always an alternate route around it , but seems on rare ocasions the quest tracker just give a false route

had te same thing on nar shadaa bonus quests line , then i exited the bonus area and run back then the quest updated correctly not leaing me true a small hallway with lvl 50 repunlic driods waiting for me around the corner ...

its just a quest tracker bug
Quoted of SWTOR Forums: can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out.

the problem is, it could happen. or, something else could happen. it doesnt matter what would happen or what has not - the design philosophy is irritating.

it is little different from the time when pvpers were forced to join raids because pvp weapons were dropping only in raids back at wow.

You clearly missed one. The cave in question is not instanced. I did the same quest as you, but had previously explored the area. I was at no point flagged for PvP.

1. You're wrong so the whole thread is pointless.

2. Even if you're right, which again you are not, you got flagged for a second. OH MY GOD.

I could come up with all kinds of hypothetical scenarios to whine about, it doesn't mean it's a good idea to do so.

Go west, through the Dune Sea entrance...head south until you find the other entrance to the Dune Sea area...go that way. It's really not hard to figure out.

Push come to shove, seriously...walk through the FFA zone. There is nobody in it 99.9% of the time. Seriously.

that is an issue with the design philosophy.

forcing players to things out of their preferred style of gameplay, is not good.. if you dont express your displeasure with such stuff, it just exacerbates and carries over to updates, expansions and so on.

its not something good.
You are wrong.

You are ABJECTLY wrong.

It's a GREAT idea to do things that force players out of their comfort zone. It's a PHENOMENAL idea, in fact.

You just do it in a manner that involves only a minor amount of discomfort, and you don't make them repeat it on a regular basis.

A game such as a themepark MMO, which is what SWTOR is, NEEDS TO GO OUT OF ITS OWN DARN WAY to make players get on some rides they don't think that they will enjoy. It is how you get people to experience the content.

Many players will be put into this situation, find that they indeed do not like the ride, and never get back on again.

Others will find out that they LOVE the ride and want to get back in line over and over again.

You may not like this one aspect of the game, but it's still great game design.
