Can a Jugg DPS spec be on par with a Marauder's DPS?

I'm trying to decide on a new alt and it's between going DPS Jugg or Marauder.

Can a Jugg spec'd either Vengeance or Rage have the same amount of DPS that a Marauder can? Or maybe close to it?

Mate who can tell. its been discussed down to agony and the general concenus is Jug probably is lower DPS.

Depends on who's playing it. I've been in numerous warzones where I've done more damage than my marauder guildie.

This is always a stupid answer. "Depends on who is playing it." Put a pro behind a Juggernaut and a 7-year-old behind a Marauder, yes, the Juggernaut wins. But it's quite obvious the question he asked implies everything else being equal, including gear and ability of the player.

Again, OP, no. Juggernauts cannot reach the dps that Marauders can.

I'd like to say that that my marauder guildie and I are on equal level of skills in this game and while he might do more damage when he's up and running he'll die alot too, and it's during his death that I stay alive and make up for the damage.

Since you're so certain you must be the first in the game with a dps meter. So if you would please share these numbers.

Truth is no one knows, and it's been said a thousand times over for all dps.

Marauder more than likely does out dps jugg, but we won't know til we have meters.

While I can out deeps a lot of marauders in warzones the highest DPS i have ever seen from a melee class was a marauder who got 500k total dmg, a feat I have only seen topped by a sorc mate of mine who got 640k ish the other week. Although both of these happened before the lvl 50 brackets came in.

Also while I out dps the marauder guildies we have in pvp 1v1 its a very different story, its probably 50/50 who will win although I do have a very slight gear advantage over him.

Obviously, if the maurader ONLY uses his force smash on single targets and the jug is constantly using it on 2+ people overall the Jug will end up with lots more DPS. But all things being equal with the same player sitting behind the characters not only does marauder have better DPS they also have better baseline survivability over a Rage specced jug.

Jugs do not get a 99% damage reduction. Jugs do not get invisibility (Vanish). Jugs do not get a long duration damage reflect/reduction. Jugs do not get a run speed boost.

Marauders are a significantly better choice if you want to go the melee DPS route.

Juggernauts (Rage & Vengeance spec) do roughly 10% less damage than an equally geared and skilled Marauder.
