Bigger picture or not. You're claiming you're not calling for a nerf, but in the most technical sense of what a nerf is, you are calling for a nerf. Just because you don't want to believe you're calling for a nerf, doesn't make it so. You can't change the definition of it just because it suits you.

Yeah, reducing cooldown in PVP would be an obvious option.

Also, if you think a 85% damage transfer on a single target for 6 seconds out of every 15 is "useless" that sorta says it all about how guard is screwing up PVP balance.

PVP tanking shouldn't be about sitting there absorbing damage from 5 players without any real effort on your part. BW should be rewarding proactive, intelligent tank play, not sticking to your healer's butt like your life depends on it.

If you're the type of player who'd rather deal 125% damage spread out over two targets you are not a very good player in the first place. If we really are worried about people like you we can just make it still only count as 100% damage dealt for reward purposes.

Anyhow, these are all just brainstorming. The problem is very real and there needs to be SOME solution because it is just a mathematical problem with no solution. Guard creates a dynamic where if you balance to guard burst is too high but if you balance not to guard no one ever dies.

Look, I don't really want to argue about the definition of the term "nerf." I think it is pretty clear what I want to do. Guard should have less of a game-changing impact on PVP balance. Everything should be adjusted to account for that, meaning that tanks won't get any weaker, it will just means Guard doesn't completely change the way every other ability is balanced.

I don't know if you've spent much time PvPing in this game or if you're just going off assumptions from WoW. Obviously, you're pretty set on your opinion here. I disagree.

You clearly don't belong in this thread if you can't see why guard is a no brainer in any organized setup.

You are probably a PUGer who guards the dps commando standing there trying to spam tracer missile while 3 melee dps wail on him. That's the only way your comment makes any sense at all.

Guard is what makes tank classes actually useful in PvP. I'd rather not go back to old games where if you want to PvP and are a tank you need to respec.
