You sure won't be taunting them with your spelling expertise.

Especially because all the good guys in the OT had red blaster bolts.

I always thought they should've replaced purple with black for the sith.

Wrong. In kotor there was colour crystal slot for colour and two power crystal slots for stat bonuses..

Jedi typically used Blue, Green or Yellow with some exceptions and with certain more unique colors being used by certain Jedi. Blue was generally considered the color for Jedi Guardians, green for Jedi Consulars and yellow for Jedi Sentinels. The Sith, on the other hand, began using lightsabers only to mock the Jedi by defeating them with their own weapons. While Jedi used natural crystals for their lightsabers, the Sith used artificial crystals because the lightsaber was more utilitarian to them and the artificial crystals resulted in a red color. Again, while there were exceptions, most Jedi would not use a red lightsaber as that was considered the color used by the Sith and by dark side Jedi.
Well said. I understand the reasoning behind haveing LS/DS restrictions on color crystals and it fits with the Star Wars universe. But they do need to change something. Purple shouldn't be restricted to the Empire is it's a Jedi who used it in the movies, it should be neutral.

They should just add some more colors (weren't there a ton in KOTOR 2?) so they can even out the LS/DS restrictions in a way that's balanced. And they also need to allow crafters to make more/better crystals because the way it is now it's hard to find useful color crystals from crafters.

Also, they should change the color restrictions to be restricted by Jedi or Sith and not alignmment. Because the way it is now non-force users are also restricted and there is NO reason for them to be restricted. And in the movies the colors go by their class (Sith or Jedi) and not their alignment.

I completely agree. Artifice, as it is, just seems so.... boring. Give them a reason to exist! If you want an awesome lightsaber, you either need to be or see an artificer.

But please, PLEASE, put them in the game! I think the reason why I get so worked up over this issue is that the restriction is just so arbitrary. I can have pink, or blue with a black core, but not the color of an iconic movie Jedi?
Agreed they need to widen the varierty and availability of many colors.

Artifice can only do green, blue, red and yellow for most of the leveling process and get orange later.. You can get magenta after breaking your neck to get a recipe then breaking it again to get the actual mats. it's ridiculous.

Jedi and Sith should have much more access to purple. Hell Taris alone I saw at least 20 NPCs with purple lightsabers, you gonna tell me they are extra rare?

Not to mention as a SA half of my artiface recipes for crystals are ABSOLUTELY USELESS TO ME and most of the rest of empire because there aint THAT MANY light-side sith, all because of some brain-dead idea of "Hey we'll make lightsaber crystals dependent on alignment choice for no actual real reason other than because we can!"

Whats the reason? Really I want to know. Because sith in the movies only used red? But then yellow and orange are okay? They didn't use yellow and orange either geniuses.

This is all besides the fact thatr we were led to believe there would be a massive amount of color choices in this game and we have what?

Blue
Green
Purple (somewhere)
White (somewhere else)
Red
Orange
Yellow
and... Magenta (which is just another shade of red)

Supposedly there's cyan (which is just another shade of uhm.. BLUE)

Theres so many more colors they could offer but for some reason we're so limited and further limited by alignment and rarity.

Just for your enjoyment a list of known colors in teh star war galaxy for lightsabers.

Green
Blue
Red
Yellow
Orange
Purple
White (which was actually a pearl white)
Cyan
Indigo
Gold
Silver
Bronze
Brown
Violet
Aqua
Amber
Pink
Pewter
Magenta
Hell Wookiepedia even lists RAINBOW and CLEAR

Not to mention all the other sub colors of already mentioned colors and variations in core color

Jade Green
Dark Green
Light Green
Sage Green
Azure
Sapphire
Teal
Scarlet
Blood Red
Bronze with a Yellow Core
Green with a Black Core
Yellow with a Black Core

the list goes on and on...

And I don't want to hear any scientific explanation behind how a plasma blade can't have anything other than a white core., or it can't be such and such color. This is fantasy, there is no real life lightsabers to argue it with and you're assuming science works the same in the Star Wars Galaxy, hell it doesn't even work right some times in our own.

Wait what? Why wouldn't your jedi be able to use a purple crystal?

Yes, make Purple available to Jedi!! If not for the sole reason Mace Windu was a Mutha****ing Jedi!!

Yes, make Artifice practical end game.

NO, Magenta is not a substitute for purple, and please call it by it's real name "Pink"

Yes, I will agree a Black Sith saber, and White Jedi saber would be an awesome idea.

Another way you can give players color availability is by offering "RARE" colors via the VIP vendors/lounge, so that those who bought the collectors edition don't feel as if they paid an extra 60-80 dollars more for nothing...

Just ideas... hoping someone somewhere is reading this... /facedesk /facedesk /facedesk
