Honestly, rest areas should be sanctuaries - and removed from general PvP space. If it wasn't a rest area, well that should be your first clue.

What you have just experienced is the ONLY difference between a PvP and a PvE server, overlevel ganking. There is absolutely zero reason to play on a PvP server other than this, especially with how TOR is so fragmented basically negating any on-level PvP you might have experienced otherwise.

Killing someone several levels lower than you unprovoked isn't PvP, it's griefing.
I've never personally felt any reason to do it, always left opposite faction players alone, even if they're my own level.
And I'm on a PvP server, strangely enough I've never felt that I had to PvP for just that reason alone <.<

The only reason to play on a PvP server is over-level ganking. I'm not sure what you were expecting to find, perhaps you can elaborate?

This. We had someone gank one of our guildies in tatooine while they were leveling, it was 3 on 1. So they asked for help. So we came in and killed his campers. Then the enemy guild asked for help. And it snowballed into a 50 on 50 all out war in tatooine. It was great.

Stop being carebears, it's a pvp server, if you don't want world pvp, go play WoW. People there are too busy standing around doing nothing in capital cities.

It's less fun when you don't have level 50 guildies online - but then you just start plotting your revenge.

I have some really terribly evil ideas I can't wait to unleash on some unsuspecting Imps. That's just called delayed gratification.

Also, there's an extent to which this can help people vent anger and frustration, as it creates a very valid, easy and safe target for transference (you can't just beat on something you don't care about to vent frustration; this has been experimentally proven).

Yea come to a pve server and get trolled by a level 50 while you quest. Least on a pvp server you should expect it at any time.
