Imps outnumber the repubs simply b/c thats the faction everyone migrated to due to these convoluted superstitions that have been created throughout the mmo community. Once the imbalance was there all the sheep jump on the bandwagon to try to get a piece of the pie.

happened in rift, warhammer, wow, aion, practically every faction based mmo with pvp ever created. youre (self proclaimed)hardcore player community always hold themselves to higher standards than everyone else and there is always a faction that appeals to their antisocial personalities, horde, chaos, asmodians, empire. dark moody brooding cruel evil hates little kids ect.

and republic just doesn't fit that build.....

It's a fantasy RPG. Many people like to act out things in a game that they would never dream of IRL.

For me personally it's just really fun to be the kind of ******e to a bunch of NPCs that I kinda wish I could be IRL sometimes. Plus a lot of time it's just funny. Can't tell you how many times I've laughed at the manner in which my characters indiscriminately kill the deserving and the undeserving alike.

I don't think it has anything to do with maturity unless you consider treating your avatar as a real person 'mature'.

I doubt very many people who go Empire/dark side really are sociopathic serial killers, but that's pretty much what your character is. It's just oddly funny and satisfying to me.

I am a perfectly mature, rational, and functional adult.

All the little kids decided it was cooler to play evil. In an effort to be cool, they all just became the norm, fad followers and nobodies.

Numbers should be more balanced, but they aren't, and it is the job of the Republic players to actually come up with better tactics to beat the hordes of Imperial players.

There is nothing impressive about being a part of a huge gank mob that kills 5 enemy players when you have 20.

I DO agree that the empire is more "interesting" and has some small move advantages. However, I would like the stress that this tends to be a common occurrence and might even be inevitable in dual faction MMO. For example, in Rift nobody had a clue what the lore was, who were the good guys or bad guys, and all the classes on both sides were the same. It was Defiants vs. Guardians, but that might as well have been Red vs. Blue. However, while it was balanced at first, Guardians started becoming stronger and more populated and it only snowballed from there. Maybe all it takes is a well organized PvP guild that dominates a bunch of warzones that then frustrate players on the other faction into thinking they should switch because they're on the losing side. Then there's a drop in population and the imbalance gets worse and worse.

One thing that helps this is long queues on the advantaged side which makes it boring and slows gear progression; however, because of huttball in this game there is little incentive to switch since you will always have someone to play against. The addition of new intra-faction warzones only makes this worse. I commend you bioware for a creative, good idea, but it does remove the incentive for faction balance. This may or may not have lasting consequences.

An eloquent unbiased post. Bravo brave republican for stating so obvious a truth!

Quick someone give this man an honorary doctorate in psychology. . .

In reality stereotypes exist in regards to good and evil factions alike. I would bet that more 'kids' roll the evil faction to escape playing with the 'good' faction stereotypes (Falcor, defender of the alliance) than because it's 'cool'.

No. You just continually misunderstood the previous posters and took a lot of their statements as personal attacks. Maybe you are a legal adult with lower level of English comprehension. Apologies, if this is the case one should never be harsh with the slow but instead understanding...

this was your reply to the previous posters' statement about "many pvprs" ... not you exclusively. But alas, i must follow my own advice. And begin ignoring your obviously misguided aggression. Off to the game...
