Go figure.
Too bad they killed it, but you must never have played SWG. I just tested it, and you can't "friend" a cross factional toon either. I suppose that is for economic reasons too, lol.

Explanations have been given, and you've said they're not workable without actually explaining why they're unworkable. I'm not wasting further paragraphs on it. QQ more.

I get it, but it's a bit ridiculous to limit who we can send mail to.

What if they were not an alt, but a friend, who plays at different times than I do that I wanted to send some stuff or just some communication to??

Don't know why I am asking this when they make us go to a mailbox for mail in the first place. This is Star Wars! I think mail boxes are a bit a thing of the past.

Let's lose the role playing restrictions on mail. Leave that for the RP servers.
It's not for RP, when copying the other mmo they needed to be consistent. That's also why you need to wait 1 hour to get payed for your sales even though theres no plausible reason for it.

Easiest way to solve this is make Share Banks where any of your toons can bank/withdraw items and/or coins in the bank on the same account

Well the other mmo put in the one hour wait for money from sales to allow the system time to check and if nessecary flag and let a GM check the sale as part of their measures against Gold selling.

The gold sellers were using the AH to transfer the gold they were they selling to the customers. I'd imagine that the no plausible reason Bioware have the delay is a similar reason.

Go to Nar Shadda and post/buy items from your empire and post/buy on republic. Its easy, and all you pay is a couple of minutes of your time and an AH tax. There are no bots sitting at the AH camping for low bids...yet.

I am getting the impression that trading between factions is not allowed, however, I have not attempted it. I don't think I am even at a level (highest is 27) where I can run into opposite faction players yet, short of ending up in the same PvP war zone.
well i know i've run into republic players of lower than that level on ilum.

but..... they're all gold farming bots that have been there for weeks, lol.

Horde (Imperial( have their own AH (GTN) for Horde (Imperial) Cities.
Alliance (Republic) has their own AH (GTN) for Alliance (Republic) Cities.
Neutral (Hutt Cartel) has their own AH (GTN) for both Alliance (Republic) and Horde (Imperial).

This is the same for SWtOR, just replace Horde with Imperial, Alliance with Republic, and Neutral with Hutt Cartel. The Neutral Planet is Nar Shaddaa.
Ugh.. did you really just equate the Republic to the Alliance in WoW? As a Jedi, I suddenly feel dirty...

Otherwise, good call on the listed info - not arguing the mechanics as you've obviously gotten them right. Just couldn't resist commenting on that other bit.. lol

Personally I think an account shared bank is needed.
