Pretty sure everyone does.

It's one hundred percent unfair. Seriously terrible stuff. Dude A gets all kinds of gear, Dudes B and C get nothing. Or gear a tier lower than Dude A.

Perfect. >:|

I'm getting terribly bored because I havn't upgraded my gear in any way for about a week. I just need my weapon but I keep getting tokens for gear pieces I allready own. Since I get so many tokens for gear I allready have I'm not getting a lot of Centurtion commendations either so I can't even afford the fugly Centurion weapon. I guess I should just start getting the Battlemaster bags instead even though I'm only rank 45. Atleast the token system is a bit better for those bags, I have no idea why they didn't implement that for the Champion bags...

Honestly I was disappointed to see a RNG system in this game for PvP gear. Bag RNG systems are the primary reason why I refuse to play most Korean based MMOs, so seriously BW change this system asap.

I used to have no good mainhand PVP weapon I just got my champ pistol from a purchased champ bag

I still need PVP pants. Energized commando leggings are derp

*EDIT* I don't understand the problem... they want it to take time to grind it. WHo cares if you dont get the l33t champ gear right away? You still get centurion tokens and thus can still purchase centurion gear, which is just slightly weaker... and when you hit V60, you get BM bags which *gasp* gurantee champ tokens, so either way you'll get your champ gear eventually

tl;dr on the 30 pages of replies but I definitely agree that the random bag is stupid.

I have all pvp gear now but chest, one implant, and earpiece are centurion. I HATE random grinds for anything that doesn't have a daily or weekly cap. I don't mind that hard mode loot is random because I can only run it once a day. I don't mind that operations are random loot because I can only do them once a week. However, with PvP we get stuck in this mentality that the item we need will drop if we just keep pushing a little harder for a little longer. This is why I don't play the lottery or slots. The ups and downs are awful. Give me steady progression!

Why not just have tokens drop out of all the bags? Have centurion be valor 1-29, champion for 30-59. then battlemaster for 60+. This way we have clear progression and can just buy whatever we want. I'd even be fine if the random system stayed in but didn't give us comms for mis-matched inferior items. The way it is just feels grindy and sort of makes me not want to bother on future characters.
They see me trollin'; They hatin'...

Seriously.

It's a big trend to sell gamble items for cash or in-game currency in Korean F2P games.

It's also a big deal to have an upgrade system wherein +1-+5 are a sure thing, and +6 upwards gets exponentially more expensive and also has a greater and greater chance to completely destroy the item... that goes up to +20, and moving up to that from +19 is a less-than-1% success rate.

And people still get these items.

That's the *******st possible design. You usually have to spend cash-shop money or some kind of item you buy from the 'shop to bypass this or improve the success (read: not destroy the item) rate of the upgrade.

Awful, awful, awful stuff. It's there to squeeze money out of people.

You -really- have to design games like you're not trying to wring one more month out of absolutely everyone... and if you -are-, be prepared to add a gear tier or piece every five levels, released each month. Which is easy and quick to get. That's a way to get money out of people that isn't going to annoy the piss out of them.

THIS is the perfect way to annoy the piss out of them.

'You got lucky' is not a good reason for someone to be geared at 61 and have another person grind their way to 74 (MANY more hours) before they get their whole set.

All indications seem that every single RNG in this game is weighted against the user.

Try reverse engineering DPS gear. You will get redoubt first 90% of the time.
Try farming schematics via mission skills: you will get opposite faction and/or wrong type 90% of the time.
Try Opening PVP Bags: Of the small percentage chance that you'll get a drop, it will be either a duplicate or a useless item 90% of the time.
JK/SW Heavy gear is all set to like a 10% of the drop rate of other items on boss loot tables.

Every single RNG in this game is skewed against the player. There's a certain balance you have to set for the rat to keep pushing the button to get a treat. Clearly, this is set too tight. Someone at EA probably made the call to try to keep people "engaged" in the game past the 3 month mark.

Better yet, stop treating us like rodents in a skinner box and fix the math. This is stupid.

Eh...random is random. Random is stupid but it's still random. Pretty sure they aren't stacked against the user.

A tiny success rate to pull an item at all, coupled with the fact that when you pull an item and have 9/10 slots filled gives a literally 90% chance that if you -do- pull an item, it's a duplicate.

Now, that said, the first item you get will more or less always be an upgrade. That said, my roommate has a pair of pants for every day of the week, and if you go back and read the thread, you'll see that just about everyone who chimes in has half a dozen earpieces or two extra pairs of gloves or what-have-you.

This is NOT an isolated problem. It's widespread and it's the result of bad design. And yes, you always get addons to stats you don't need for your first -several- new recipe unlocks from RE... that said, this is very likely because there are many stats, only one of which any person actually needs. It's not like you can put use to something with Cunning if you're an Aim kinda guy, or Willpower if you're a Strength kinda guy.

It's pretty much terrible! It's not that they're designed specifically to be hostile to the player, perhaps, but there are absolutely too many options which are nonviable for such a random system to reward anyone.

Unless they get lucky!

But I've beaten that dead horse enough for this hour, I think.
