So either (A) there were only about 3 or 4 jerks on my server that entire time period, or (B) word doesn't actually "get out" the way LFD opponents claim it does.

Personally, I know which possibility I think is more likely. But I'm sure experiences vary, and so perhaps you've seen different situations play out. To each their own.
Maybe not for you but I ran one of the main raiding guilds on our server and I much enjoyed telling applicants where they could go stick their app because of prior behaviour

Who says Bioware has to limit it at 50?

Like you said the potential to meet people through the cross realm tool is astronomically higher than the potential to meet people on your own realm.

If someone rubs you the wrong way just move on to the next group? If you don't want the possibility of having bad apples in your group whatsoever just limit yourself to running with people you know and trust, don't take pugs from x-server or from your own server.

This goes along well with my last post, don't want to run with people who potentially might break your idea of social rules? Then just run with people you know...don't utilize the cross realm tool.

Then ofc there is the communication issues.. in our battle group was an italian server and you got into one of their groups you quite often got kicked for not speaking italian.

There was also a server which seemed to have been made up of about 80% bad players.. I mean ridiculously bad. Like they were not pushing buttons to DPS bad.. gah no thanks much rather the way it was before that whole LFD and go go go.. got my loot.. sod you.. then you see tank and healer leave and spend another 40 minutes waiting..

I think about 1 in 4 you would get an alright group but so many people abuse it.. Trying to get others to twink them through content they are not ready for.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to X-Realm LFD

This is why people who argue that cross server LFG leads to teaming with bad people or whatever are just speaking nonsense. There's the same chance of that forming a pug in general chat after a half hour of "LFG LFG LFG, LF2Mtank/heals, LF1Mtank...."

In fact it seems a bit paranoid and antisocial to me, "there's bad people out there who want to hurt me and steal my stuff, I only want to hang with my 3 friends, strangers are scary, my mom told me so when she dropped me off at soccer practice where I get my participation trophies"
I'm hot and you're not. I'm on Tattooine, you're on Hoth.

Well... that's just a stupid arrangement by Blizzard... a problem easily avoided by not having cross server between different language servers.

And if you do get in a group that doesn't speak your language? So what? Leave and queue up again... Still takes less time than shouting LFG in general chat for 45 mins.

Oh my god people... what is so hard about understanding that you don't have to use it if you don't like it? If you don't like the people you end up with when you use the LFG tool and just want to group with your friends, then just don't use the tool, group with your friends, and let those of use who DO want to use the tool just have the friggin tool! We can BOTH have our way! Us having the tool to work with in no way impacts your playing experience if you don't want to use it anyway! I don't understand this, why do people argue against it?! You lose nothing, it changes nothing for you if we get our tool, just don't use it if you want! AHHHHHH! lol... it's just insane to me how adamant you people are in opposing this for no reason. It's like you just don't want other people to be happy.

And you know what naysayers? Your arguments are especially pointless, because Bioware already SAID they're working on adding the LFG tool. It's just a question of when. And we're saying we need it ASAP before the whole Flashpoint scene dies and people just get used to soloing and skipping all group content, and us group players jsut quit out of boredom to go play a game we can team up in.

Thank you for your 80% and 1 in 4 statistics!

Like I said though, just form groups with people you know and trust if you want to avoid the potential for bad players. This goes for now too even without a cross realm group tool.
If I'm running with a tank I don't know I am accepting that there is a possibility he may be a jerk or someone who doesn't meet my definition of skilled.

If other players want to take that risk though with pugging on their own server or through x-server tools who are you to stop them from playing the way they choose?

Lol because I feel that this sums up your argument quite nicely.

when maually gather group in general how u measure ppl? oh u don't, in fact u can't

so u will se if he is bad only in heroic/fp and then u kick&ignore him and then u realize then u standing in dungeon with one missing player… bravo now u waste time once more to find replace

and things get even better without dps-meter, you must waste extensive resourse of you time to gauge players

Lol because I feel that this sums up your argument quite nicely.
If bioware want to implement it and go that route then fine.. I really hope the game doesn't devolve into the pile of cack that is wow lfd if they do.. I'll leave this game just as fast as I left wow if it does.

So let's see...

Common reasons people say LFD is not needed include:

1 - Make friends and go to them when you want to group (because everyone on your friends list is ALWAYS online whenever you need them)

2 - Be in an active guild (because everyone is in a guild with 300 members all at your call whenever you want to run a FP)

3 - Playing with people in your server is somehow "better" (as if idiots aren't abound on your server as well)

Guess what? Nothing, NOTHING, stops you from grouping with friends, guild-mates or being "server exclusive" with LFD. Basically you just don't want other people to find groups faster is what it boils down to because either a) you have a very narrow view of what an MMO should be and everyone MUST adhere, b) you had a bad LFD experience in WoW and somehow have amnesia regarding how those bad groups happened before LFD just as often or c) you just want to a jerk to the guy that logs in at 8:00 after a long day at work, has a small guild that isn't always online and just wants to do a fast flashpoint in the half hour he has to play.

Keep listening to the vocal minority and you'll end up with another dying MMO.

/sigh

Really love this game but it is easily the hardest time I've had to group in an MMO ... EVER (as a Tank to boot.) LFG within the server will do nothing to solve the problem ... mark my words; this road has been taken before and the result will be the same.
