If you want to alleviate the problem all together just stick to running with friends/people you know instead of utilizing the cross server tool.

This is a key point that people just don't seem to understand. When your sample size increases, we would expect the absolute number of a given event (in this case, jerks in a dungeon group) to increase, but the relative percent is staying the same. I've never bought the idea that a significant number of people decide that they will do jerky things in a cross-realm group but would never do such a thing on their server.

And even if there is an increase in unfriendly behavior with cross-realm group, what do you think the increase actually would be? 10%? 20%? Can't be worse than that, and it's probably lower I think based on my experiences.

Personally, I'd gladly take being able to save 45 minutes on getting a group going even if it means a 15% greater chance that someone in the group is going to be a jerk. At the end of the day, it still means I'm getting a greater amount of friendly groups per unit of time than with the current system, where I see 30 people in Fleet at peak time on a GOOD day.

Perhaps you would like a tool to assign you to a guild as well.
Looking for a good woman. Able to clean, cook, sew, catch bait, and clean fish. Must have boat and motor.
((Please send picture of boat and motor))

except right now there is accountability and if you meet someone who does that you stick them on ignore and word gets about.

With x-realm LFD they are anonymous and odds are they will never meet you again.

This anonymity is what destroys communities.. How do they behave on here thinking they can hide behind the IP and the LFD puts you in a group with these people.

Yes and all pro cross server LFD players want instant level 50, instant gear mailed to us, and ability to readjust our AC's anytime we want.

Thank you for adding something valuable to this argument and thread.

And that's exactly where I'm coming from. If the game isn't encouraging teaming enough and I can't find a team, I get bored and eventually quit. Soloing bores me, the only thing that gives an MMO any replay value is teaming with people. I'm trying not to quit, I hope they fix this game.

Frankly, I think I would rather team up with ninja looters and jerks and be able to get in FP runs, than not be able to do FPs at all, because I really don't have the time or patience to LFG for an hour each time. In fact, I could get in a whole other FP run in the time it takes me now to find a group. That's 2 for 1 the way I see it, and 2 for 1 is always a good deal, even if one of them isn't so good.

Have the ability to stick people you meet on x-realm with ignore too? WoW already has this feature. If you're feeling particularly vindictive just take a few screenshots of said social transgression and post them on the server community forums!

Hey problem solved!

and get banned for naming and shaming and they only had enougth room to ignore 50 people.. You meet far more than 50 people with x-realm LFG

In fact name and shame someone here and now on your server that exists.. and see what happens

This is one of the main arguments against cross-realm LFD that I hear, and I simply don't buy it. I played WoW for 6 years and can count on one hand the number of people about whom "word got out" about on my server to the point that people actually avoided him or her. So either (A) there were only about 3 or 4 jerks on my server that entire time period, or (B) word doesn't actually "get out" the way LFD opponents claim it does.

Personally, I know which possibility I think is more likely. But I'm sure experiences vary, and so perhaps you've seen different situations play out. To each their own.
