Well Caelrie you have to understand that you're dealing with a lot of people who aren't using logic or reasoning here. They are using pure emotional arguments. WoW is "killed" for him simply because he/she no longer plays it, not because of how successful it is or how many subscribers and income it's still bringing in.

Since WoW is "dead" to him/her while SWTOR isn't it is obviously the fault of features that WoW has that SWTOR does not. In this case the cross realm LFD.

You'll never see any sort of logical fact or evidence to support that LFD kills community or servers because the very nature of the argument is absolutely impossible to prove or disprove since community is a highly subjective thing. All you will get is a bunch of emotionally charged hyperbole.

No kidding. Can I sign up to fail like that? I'll buy my own island.

If you used WoW's dungeon finder tool and always failed your dungeons, the common denominator was YOU. It worked fine for me and we almost always completed the dungeon.
Same for me, even to this day I have never not even once been kicked from a group and they usually went very well. Sometimes we would just queue again as the same group because things ran so smoothly. Occasionally we would get a jerk but we would either vote kick or afk until they left. Even in the case when the vote kick timer was still on cooldown the group would band together and just wait out the timer just to spite the annoying player and remove them anyway.

I would say my bad groups didn't even consist of more than 1% of my total groups. I would even say 9 out of 10 times that annoying rude jerk player was just some heroic raid geared out elitist who couldn't handle running with us simple folks who were running content that was designed for our gear level.

I never had to PUG, sorry I got friends and a good guild to team with. We only used LFD for a quick travel. I've read all the crying that happened at the launch of Cataclysm. Dungeons were too hard and needed to be nerfed or they were going to lose millions of customers.
I need about tree fitty.

So what you're saying is that you're commenting on what kind of people you find using an LFD tool when you have no experience with it. Do you do that sort of thing a lot? Pretend to be an expert on something you have no experience with?

A same-server LFG tool is definitely needed (and I think I read somewhere that its something they're "looking into").

I think its too early in the game's life right now for cross-server. Not because "it'll kill the community" as much as it's just really not needed.

The reason WoW needed cross server queueing was because of the huge disparity between the amount of tanks and healers and DPS. Too often on a server you'd find plenty of people looking to run a dungeon but not nearly enough of those were fully specced as tanks or heals. By grouping servers this allowed DPS to have a much larger pool of tanks and heals to be able to pull from.

Now with SWTOR I don't believe that is necessary as the majority of all ACs have the option to be either dps and either tank or heals. This means there's a much higher % of players capable of filling these roles. Granted they need to be specced for that role but that's something that a dual spec feature can very easily fix.
All the way to Alderaan!

This guy makes sense... so of course someone will now contradict him lol
I'm hot and you're not. I'm on Tattooine, you're on Hoth.

Hi, I bought a new Star Wars game and I'm angry that it was a new Star Wars game and not a Star Wars expansion for World of Warcraft.

If you make this game exactly like a game I'm no longer willing to pay for I promise to quit your game as soon as another game, that I want to be an expansion for World of Warcraft, comes along.

Funny... So all lvl 50s skipped every H2-4 quest? Very interesting.

Oh wait! I'm a lvl 50 and I didn't skip any! HAHA! Oh that's rich.

Please don't assume. Ty.
