They still can actually. This guy is just bad. I'm in 1/2 battlemaster and 1/2 champion and Operatives equally geared can kill me in 1 go if my trinkets not up!

Actually they made it so tanks with high armor will actually mitigate more against you. You shouldnt be able to pop on a vanguard or powertech and take them down to half or below in 4 seconds. This is why they are tanks. They need to be able to be difficult to kill so they will want to use thier guards on other people.

The knockdown reduce was because of the animation. When you K'ded someone it would take extra time of not doing anything to get up. So realistically you were knocking someone down longer then intended.

Also, let's not pretend these people who design games are retarded. I've followed Zoeller for a while and he's very well thought out in terms of combat mechanics. If they say its higher then intended. It means they took the time to research it and test things.

These people dont just read the forums and say, PEOPLE ARE MAD BRAH LETS NERF -click-. Give them a bit more credit for being a person with a brain.

Op would be long gone before anyone realised what happened.

Ive went up against pre mades that were focused with 2 people a healer and tank keeping operative alive people would just explode in their path. Now the tanks will at least be able to not die straight away.

You can always reroll a Sage, since you think they are so awesome.

So you gain about half a second and slightly more damage than opening with a back-blast but you completely resolve immune someone so you can't use the talented root or 4 second stun. It's bad enough the class doesn't have any strong defensive cooldowns or gap closers.
The stun is a talent and not from Shoot First itself, so it's still the opener. People will just move the points from K.O (the knockdown) into Browbeater (9% increased damage on flechette rounds).

The 1.5s stun seems strange though, wouldn't that have been the total time of the stun if you had your "escape" up and used it.

Sure, I agree with your fictional story. A lot of you are still hinting that you haven't had enough experience in organized level 50 PvP combat. This puts your credibility into question. And who wants you guys calling the shots? Oh.. that's right, BioWare does.

Thats Right , yes we the casual noobs are in charge now and you the l33t whatever you call yourself is a sore loser. Suck it up and stop being bitter. ITs been nerfed live with it and there is nothing you can do about it. Reroll whatever is the next flavour of the month or stick with your class and stop ************.

It needed to be nerfed, anyone that argues otherwise has no clue how a game should be balanced for enjoyable PvP. However, it should not be nerfed in such a drastic way. The 3 second opening stun and damage was necessary because scoundrels/ops have no gap closer and terrible defensive cooldowns. The damage was way to bursty and should have been toned down or some of it transferred to a bleed. There should be a 10 seconds cooldown on it as well so ops/scoundrels can't vanish for two openers in a row or run around opening on people after each kill (if they manage a restealth).

This is how the notes should read:
  • Damage on Shoot First reduced by 20% and 40% of the damage is now moved to a 9 second bleed. (ex. A 5k crit is reduced first by 20% to 4000 damage, that 4000 damage is split up so it does 2400 upfront and 1600 over 9 seconds.)
  • The Stun from KO now has a 10 second cooldown and lasts 3 seconds
  • Flechette round now increases armor penetration by 30% (down from 50%) but the duration on the DoT now lasts 3 additional seconds and the damage on the DoT increased to accommodate the increase in duration
  • The damage on Quick Shot is now increased by an additional 15% as a passive for the Scoundrel Advanced Class
  • Dodge now also reduces all damage taken by 50% for the 3 seconds it lasts

The Quick Shot buff is to give Scoundrels a slight boost in mid-range damage to compensate for not having any form of a gap closer. The other direction they could take is to increase the range on Quick Shot by 5m and leave the damage how it is now. Currently Quick Shot is next to useless except for kiting other melee (and it dumps pretty much all energy to Quick Shot kite anyways for really pathetic damage).

The rest of the buffs/nerfs are self-explanatory.

I'll live with it in the world of Sanctuary.
