All those functions are the main reason why WoW sucks.
No. WoW sucks because the content sucks and the game has gotten too old and stale, and the developers gave up on real PvP balance after they realized how hard it was to balance for Arena without changing the 'sacred cows' abilities that various classes had because PvE'ers would ***** too much.

Macros and Add-ons were around when WoW was at its peaks for PvE in Blackwing Lair, Black Temple, Mount Hyjal, Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel. Macros and Add-ons were around when WoW was at its peak for PvP in Arena Seasons 2, 3, and 6, as well as the original server-battlegrounds (if you were Horde) in mid-to-late Vanilla WoW.

There's just as much skill as there is putting buttons on an action bar and spamming buttons all the time.

Certainly there is, based on fact that BW cannot accommodate people with various forms of sight, hearing and/or mobility impairment as well as an open source community can.

I want mods and macros. Modding my UI is a very fun part of the game for me.

Developers themselves for whatever reason are almost universally incapable of improving their UI anywhere near what independant mod writers can. Even when mods are made that are later incorporated into the UI they are not done as well as the originals.

Love the game so far but long term, totally unplayable without mods. sorry if you don't like that.

And for all those that claim Addons have no impact on the community, I offer the above post as the counter to that

There's a fine line between "harmless" and "abusive" - to use another example how much work does BioWare want to do to make sure a "Clock/Time" function for displaying the current time isn't exploited/abused for a "Boss Timer" mod?

Most of the requested "Macro" functions (like Mouseover Healing) are better-implemented directly into the UI if that's a playstyle BioWare supports, or not implmented at all if not.

Addons aren't needed. Even when it comes to UI Enhancements to improve a person's ability to process game information (HUDs, PowerAura, etc), that's functionality best-implemented by BioWare based on how they (you know, the people who actually designed the game) want the game to play.

No, 'cause I want to see exactly how leet you, the individual, are over all these people that suck and need to evolve. Otherwise, you are full of horse **** and only use 4 powers, ignoring the rest.
Attempting to change one's reason with logic is ineffective when said reason had been formed without.
"Pandas?! F that! I'mma go play lightsabers!"

Except that he's wrong... there are lots of ways for people to be competitive without mods.

No, the hierarchy is
  1. Best if implemented by a 3rd party group that keeps it up to date and adds tweaks as needed
  2. next best if Bioware adds it
  3. Worst: not implemented

No, they certainly are, especially for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

Oh wow. How would a screenshot convince you I don't 'only use 4 powers' Perhaps a video would satisfy you more? Too bad I don't care if you believe me or not.

All you need to know is that I'm fine without macros and really don't want the combat to be dumbed down anymore. I think having a high skill cap is a good thing, and considering a lot of people want damage/healing meters for competition, you'd think they would too.
