That's why blizz never did it. They refused to. They just offered free transfers and paid transfers.

Holy f'ing cow. You must think you are pretty special.

Server mergers will never happen in this game. Get over it. In fact, get over yourself.
Shhhhhhhh they were told they were so the believe it. Don't break the image they have of themselves that since they did it once in the game they don't need to do it again.

Because it's rational!

Didn't you know that merging servers kill games...not the fact that the need to merge the servers is the beginning of either
a: a population decline
b: too many servers for the current population.

Similar to SWG:The Repopulation
Similar to EvE (Ground based Mechs): Perpetuum
Themepark/Sandbox Hybrid: ArcheAge

It is a simple business decision they will have to make in order to prevent subs from disappearing. They don't worry about the fanbois on parade, they will be happy to play on empty servers with unpopulated zones, nothing on the GTN and zero groups.

They worry about the hundreds of thousands players wanting groups, thriving GTNs, and populated zones. When it gets to the point people are leaving the game because their server has been lifeless for a while transfers or some other mechanic will be introduced.

Populations need to stbilize and data (not anecdotal) needs to be gathered, analyzed and considered before they act. Check back in a month and if some servers just don't have enough players they will do something.

Now that we've got that out of the way, merging servers benefits everyone in the long run (yes even you mr. ToFN). You may say it's bad publicity for the game at this early stage and that maybe true to an extent but what's truly bad publicity is when lots of people stop playing the game due to not having any incentive to play it. Paying a monthly fee for what feels like a single player game on many low pop servers is not that incentive I can assure you, and nor is rerolling for many either.

And before anyone says it's my fault I chose a low pop server: I didn't. The server was marked heavy when I started, I cannot tell the future, how was I supposed to foresee that the particular server I happened to roll on would plummit to light/sometimes standard. And on the other hand there are some servers which started light/standard and are now heavy. This was a random gamble that worked for some and for others it didn't.

The bottom line is that there are just far too many servers for a game this young. They opened like what; over 100 new servers after the queue QQ during launch? Who was the person in charge who approved to give in to this whining? Have they not witnessed this happening in pretty much every MMO before this one? The results have always been the same. Try to be a little more realistic, you're not going to get 10 million players right from the get go. If you can listen to queue whiners then why cannot you now listen to us who are asking you to fix the problem you created by giving into those whines?
You mentioned your were on between the hours of 7pm and 9pm. What server do you play on, and what timezone are you in?

On Vulkar Highway 130 people used to be in fleet and the game had a 30min queue time.

Now no queues 275 people in fleet at night.

Bioware said addressing queues was their top priority at that time. Could it be that they did what they said they would and raised the server population cap?

Who would have ever thought that, an MMO company saying they would fix something and they did, and yet people acting that way about a PERCENTAGE. The way percentages work is if you raise one number and not the other number, the percentage of total lowers but the first number does not change. I am seeing more and more people in game now, and not just in the fleet.

Oh yeah btw, for the guy that said he only say 4 people in Alderaan.......Most people are beyond low 20s, early 30s so therefore the planet is more empty. I am seeing quite a bit more on hoth/belsavis which seems thats where a majority of the population is at presently. Best way to know where most people are right now is look at general in the fleet and see where most people are asking for more for flashpoints. On my server im mostly seeing CWG and reaper requests. So to you sir, the game is not dead.

I'm sorry but it's an issue if you admit it or not.

How can anyone think to create an alt or continue to level when every planet before Hoth has less than 6 people playing at a time?

That being said, I'm not opposed to merges if it means more people on my server. I'm on a pretty well populated server, but I enjoy seeing lots of people, even if I have to queue for a few minutes.
