Like, im actually not sure if you are serious. Do you mean if it is cross server? Would you still quit if it was server only, and can you explain your reasoning for me please.

I wouldn't mind a more refined version of the LFG system that they currently have, some way of adding yourself to a pool of players that are LFG for a specific quest and/or instance and an easy way to find said players.

I want to be able to load up the LFG pane, filter the current LFG players by their role, see what they're looking to do and have a little button that begins a whisper message so I can ask if they want to do it at that precise moment.

What I don't want is something that completely removes the need of conversation. I don't want to be automatically thrown into a group with people that don't even have the decency to say hello. A group in which the other players don't even refer to you as your character name but as your class, I've had scenarios where I've just been called "Druid" or "Healer" and that's not fun for anybody.

As a fellow healer I have to agree with you, I miss something like (notice I'm not saying a direct copy) Grid from WoW, but I am coping for now, at its present state it's a lot like early WoW, think back to those old early vanilla Baron runs.

As for the dungeon finder, I am not too bothered, if it is implemented, I would hope it would only be a server-wide feature, at least at the beginning, as I absolutely can't stand the thought of a x-server LFG tool.
What do I know of cultured ways? The gilt, the craft, and the lie?
I, who was born in a naked land, and bred in the open sky.
The subtle tongue, the sophist's guile, they fail when light sabers sing,
Rush in and die, dogs - I was a man before I was a King.

I wouldn't mind either one of these. As a healer in every MMO I play, the only difference between click/mouseover healing and the basic functionality, is tedium. It simply saves time and a single click/hotkey press.

The LFD tool needs to be server only though. Cross-Server anything effectively destroys a server community in a single fell swoop.

I agree with your first request as I can't see how that would do anything but make the game better, the LFD tool however I personally don't want to see one added, Simple as that.

These two things are somewhat deal breakers for me. Once I hit 50 I'll give maybe another month if these aren't hinted to implemented then I'll be gone. But addons and a dungeon finder would be mine mainly because a healing addon eventually be written.

I agree completely. My personally feeling is that the insta-teleport right in front of your first fight does more damage in LFG systems than even cross-server grouping. It removes any reason, or time, to connect in any way with the group. They're hardly people at that point; more like NPCs that help collect loot. It seems a little dehumanizing to me, which of course makes it easier to be a jerk to them.

It also makes things a little grindy. Run in, kill stuff, grab loot, get out, requeue.

So, yeah, a tool to help make forming a group easier might be really helpful, especially on lower-pop servers, but I really wouldn't ever want to see it do more than that.

I'm with you on both of those.

The basic problem with healing in a game like this is that the UI is fundamentally designed for a DPS character. These types of UIs are based off of really old school single player RPGs where there's no such thing as a healer or tank. So, for example, the UI highlights your frame and the enemy's above all others (where frames are probably the least of your worries as a healer). The healer - especially a raid healer - would much prefer an overall view that's easy to interpret and highlights health deficit and adverse conditions. The default UI does the opposite of this. The point and click to target is fine for DPS who, for the most part, stay on a single target and only occasionally switch to adds. Healers, on the other hand are constantly switching targets and often have to cast on mutliple targets at once. You also need to know how much your healing is going to push the target's health up by so you know if you need to compensate for lag by pre-queuing another heal straight after it.

While healing with a DPS UI is certainly possible - it means that the UI is working against you rather than for you. This makes healing for the vast majority of people who might heal considerably less fun and intuitive. Any user interface should work for the player rather than against them. This is why healers that don't use addons in games that do have the option of healing UIs are in the minority - and the ones that use neither addons nor mouseover macros are a tiny subset of those.

For those that think it somehow removes challenge or "sppon feeds" you - then get back to me when you're DPSing / Healing with your UI turned off completely...after all, you're looking for a challenge and having action bars and a HUD at all is just a crutch. Otherwise you're saying that this level of UI that suits me is okay - but I'm opposed to anyone having a UI that suits them.
If my post has praise it's not that I'm a fanboi. I just enjoyed something.
If my post has criticism, it's not that I'm a hater. I just hope to improve the game through feedback.

why do you need any kind of an addon to heal when it can already be done perfectly fine as it is. like i said i have no issues healing groups the way they have it set up. i use a razer naga epic mouse and set up my keybinds so that all i have to do is keep the mouse near the group name list select who im healing and fire off the heals. select next target and fire off some more heals. dont see what would make an addon usefull
CE for the win.
