Yeah seriously, I just launched it today to try a thing to get it to work in Steam by using Origin through steam, and guess what? Apparently the authentication servers are down. What a joke, leave the online DL distribution to the professionals.

You've been doing it for a time now. And no, i don't think you sit with 20+ friends and talk constantly, there would be no time to play the game ur on. Steam or not, you would spend all that time writing.

Ya because I'm sitting here wishing Steam would work with SWTOR just to not care and troll. Also I do, it's called multitasking. I also never said constantly, you should read my post again, I said regularly.

Anyway as the original subject of the thread states, Steam support would be fantastic. I don't really know why they would design it to not work in steam (other then cheap marketing tactics of course), but this seriously needs to be changed.

All my friends are on Steam chat and I want the Steam Overlay to work with SWTOR so I can chat to them easily.

You want a serious response? Why would they provide support or encourage the use of a competitor?

SWTOR > BIOWARE > EA > ORIGIN

I believe I actually referred to this several times in my posts. Cheap. Marketing. Technique.

As to why, because it's convenient. I don't even use Origin, I bought the game on it, downloaded it, then never touched it. I doubt many people even USE origin because of the complete piece of **** it is.

As I've said earlier also, they really need to leave the DL distribution service to the professionals. Not having support for another overlay because of greed is ridiculous.

EDIT: To even think of limiting your player base to something of a matter of convenience is a stupid move. If I can buy a game for 15 dollars and have it work in Steam, but not buy a game for 60 dollars and a 15 dollar monthly fee and have it work in Steam is completely stupid. I don't think a small convenience is much to ask.
