The problems with SWTOR are not bugged patches and PVP blunders. They are fundamental design issues that WoW had right from the start (combat, level design, economy). Nobody is unsubbing over a bad patch, it just pushes them over.

Ilum might have gone mostly unnoticed if the new PVE content wasn't lolzombieapocolypse.

The downtimes are being greatly exaggerated, and were worked out very quickly. MC was up but Rag was unkillable. Onyxia was up. UBRS was 10/15 man as was Strat and Scholo in practice.
Downtimes are NOT being exaggerated. Even NOW..NOW!!! 7 years after releases, downtime is still insane. The game is UNPLAYABLE the day of patches. Always has been.

You guys are missing the point, IT DOESN'T MATTER! WoW had nothing mainstream to compete with at that era. Swtor is competing, RIGHT NOW, with NOWADAYS WoW (and rest MMOs) and not with WoW on release. So the least swtor can do is have PROFESSIONAL customer support, meaning at least 10x better than what it is now.
Peace is a lie.

There were many different and equally frustrating "catastrophes" in ALL of Blizzards patches and expansions, even after 7 years of "polish". Have a read at http://www.curse.com/news/world-of-w...1-known-issues

Most people barely remember Vanilla WoW release and the months of issues that ensued. Customer service was extremely poor, the devs were not saying a thing. Players had a warrior protest (January 29 2005..not even three months after release) on Argent Dawn, players were so ticked off about changes to the class. It crashed the server, and as a result enraged players who were not part of said protest. Suspensions galore ensued.

A simple google search can net you almost every patch that any MMO has come out with and a list of issues and bugs that went with them. SWTOR will have its share as well. Get used to the fact that **** happens and no company that develops and publishes games ESPECIALLY internet based mmorpgs are infallible. No one company shares its inner workings with another, and no amount of observations is going to prepare anyone for what can and will happen.
This argument still doesn't hold up. If you're releasing something that many other companies have done over the course of 7 years, don't you think you should research it a bit first and try to avoid as many of their mistakes as possible? Instead BW seemed to think it was better to one-up the other games and have substantially MORE serious problems than any other release. Seven. Years. Fail. Period.

Oh puh-leeze. You'd think you're running for the GOP nomination with all the "facts" you're making up.

I want some of whatever it is you're taking. Since background patch downloading became the preferred method of delivery noone that I know or know of has had serious problems on patch days. The problem is likely your comp/ISP/etc which I'm guessing you have never troubleshooted. It is easier to just blame the game though, isn't it?

Sometimes I have to update one or two of my addons. In SWTOR we call that a first world problem. Most of the playerbase would kill to have addons to update.

why i always see more wow comparingsons from players who accualy like this game and defend it so much not seeing the stuff it misses , lacks or needs to be improved on then from players who accualy have some critism on this game if its constructive or not :s ?

makes me wonder who are the real haters :s ...

not that i'm a wow fanboi but not SW fanboi neither just thinking this :s
Quoted of SWTOR Forums: can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out.

Research? Do you honestly think that companies share their resources over a cup of coffee? Let each other know how they set up their server banks, how they do their coding, give tips to one another, share engines etc etc? Are you honestly going to tell me that by sitting and watching a game that you can point out exactly how the other guy did it to make it work?

It isn't an argument. I gave a direct link to a patch that a rival company put out, that had issues, and a great many of them. If a game that is 7 years old, has had 3 expansions and MANY patches STILL has issues, then its safe to say that even a new game, with so much external input from observing (as you surmise) is going to have a few minor issues as well.
