Anybody think SWTOR a great value for the money?

A see a lot of posts complaining about how the $60 was a waste of money, and how $15/month is sooo expensive. Ironically, a good number of those complaining claim to have leveled at least one character to 50.

So here's what I don't understand - how can you consider getting 150-200 hours gameplay for $60 a rip-off? Most other AAA games cost the same and offer 10-20 hours of gameplay. And why would you think that $15/month is a budget buster? That's cheaper than going to see a new movie in the theater and about the same price as your average DVD.

From my perspective, SWTOR has been a huge gaming value. I've gotten some 70+ hours out of the first month, and am looking forward to more fun for $15/month as they continue to add new content and features over the next few months. I've also saved a lot of money not dropping a bundle during the Holiday Steam sale, and will continue to save money over my buddies who will be running out to buy Diablo 3 and Mass Effect 3 in the upcoming months.

At any rate, if you're not having fun by all means don't resub. But I can't be the only person who thinks this game offers a lot of bang for the buck.

Not particularly. It has to be measured against all of the other MMO's out there.

The gesture is fine, but posts like these aren't helping anything at all. People are entitled to their criticisms of the game, regardless of however they posted it. That said, this post is no different from theirs, except you lavish praise whilst they rain down criticisms. The best thing to do if you really like the game is to just play it, rather than defending it. Bioware isn't a child that needs defending, nor is it a senile old man that can't fight back. They're a big boy company and can handle a bit of spit in their faces.

Once again, it's great you like the game, and you're entitled to post your opinion on the subject matter, but to do it in direct contrast to those posts that say, "unsubbed, piece of **** game" or "LOL so im playing to beta test? awesome. unsubbing from this garbage" aren't helping anything, and this petty back and forth needs to stop.

If you really want to show your support of the game, just play it. I, unfortunately, am working, so I am not entitled to that privilege at the moment, but felt inclined to say this.

15 bucks is nothing since I quit drinking, and so far it's been a great value, spent more time on it than some FPS that have came out in the past 5 years for 60 bucks, I remember when FPS lasted close to 20 hours, instead of 5 hours.
This game is too much like Wow. Game is fail.
This game is not enough like Wow. Game is fail.

Which is it trolls?

Absolutely worth the investment. I already got more playtime out of this than I did Scyrim. I love Skyrim too.

Not a waste of money at all.

Best $60 I've ever spent on a single player game (except Final Fantasy Tactics). Not even joking. If BioWare released this as KOTOR 3, it would have been perfect.

As an MMO though... not worth a subscription.

And then posts like these decry any praise given to the game as blind fanboyism. God forbid we could have a happy medium.

Not for me. I don't like games like WoW, and haven't played an MMO in a while. I am having fun in THIS game, and that is good enough for me.

I would say this game was worth my money.
Has lost all faith in BioWare since EA has gutted them and stole their soul. Will never buy another game from this shell of its former self.
