I installed the game, let it patch but when I press the PLAY button, the game crashes to the desktop from the loading screen! Help please!

Try modifying the client_defaults file. Change FullScreen=true to FullScreen=false.
This should make the game playable, but to really fix it, you may have to fix your game's refresh rate after logging in. It defaults to 75, and my screen really only supports 60. Game works like it did pre-patch for me now.
This info needs to get out there, share it where you can. That way people who don't need to aren't downloading the game/client again.

I had this issue using the launcher from the disc.

Make sure you are using the updated launcher that you download from the site.

I am using the launcher from the disc too and now I can't start the game, after I press PLAY, the button grays out and nothing happens!

Yeah, you need to get the setup file from the site I believe. That graying out thing is what it did to me.

That launcher is simply not going to work.

Greetings MerlinWiz,

As has been suggested can you please try downloading the launcher from here.

This will install a new copy of the launcher, but will not reinstall the game.

Thank you for your continuing patience in this matter.
