Thanks BIOWARE for the changes btw, keep all those Elitist 50's thinking they are actually skilled at PvP..

it's funny because now that the changes have happened.. games are fun.. you can see who the BAD players are more out in the open now.. (b/c you yourself are not getting 2 shotted by a 50)

I don't think i'm ever going to ding 50 on purpose, and if i get to 49, ill just stop and re roll a new Alt.

If Bioware REMOVES PvP gear from the game totally? then i'll go ahead and ding 50.

This is after all one of the main reasons I left WoW, I'm a PvPer, and I got sick of people who had AMAZING GEAR thinking they were good at PvP.

Gear does not = skill.

an interesting hypothesis to your theory is to allow experience to be turned off. if your population majority began electing this..and not dinging 50... the masses would have spoken and you would know expertise is not needed. would really create two different games for two different audiences..within the same game... seems win win

The worst thing about it is the players who zombie through 400000 games, get a pile of gear, then go in and essentially ruin the game because they are so powerful against the opposition. Yes they put in the time, but that does not make the actual battle fair.

As a semi geared 50 pvper, I leave the games when I see the same old pvp-for-life faces in the sith crowd. I leave because I know the game won't be fun. I can't do anything against them. I stay for the games where I see new faces, people in gear I can recognize as not being top tier. Those games are FUN and close, they require skill on my part.

I don't understand how this is a hard concept to grasp.

If 10-49 thrives, I hope it sends a clear message to Devs. This is how it should be done.
I dont understand it either. I play tons of multi player games across all platforms and the only people that think gear give them wins are mmo players. i hate to say it but swg was ahead in this respect, buy crafted caped gear maybe do some quests for some loot and ur rockin.
Swtor needs more pvp

My theory is that most of these people that are SHOOTING down truth? are X WoW players who had the TOP Arena PvP gear...

Inside their own minds they keep convincing themselves that they got that way from Skill.

It's pretty much a Denial thing...

and now when we've got even MORE PROOF... (the removal of 50's from 1-49)

all the positive feedback from everyone saying it's a TOTAL blast now.. more skill based.. more fun..

they are STILL in denial.. because ultimately that's what denial is.

If you do not want gear progression then go back to WoW and start twinking.
There is no gear progression there.

Eidt:

Wait.....

Are you talking about skill in MMOs?

You are the one that is in denial.

You can manage about 200 expertise pre-50 which is actually fairly substantial if your well geared out otherwise... the expertise enhancements in the sub-50 pvp weapons are reslottable.

New bracket is more fun. Ya lower lvls are have harder times against 40-49 lvl players but atleast they stand a chance against them than a fresh 50 vs a 50 with complete set of pvp gear. The 50 bracket for my fresh 50 is now a boring grind not caring about winning or losing since there isn't much I can do against players in full pvp sets. I think I will stick with my lower pvp bracket until something better comes along for 50s

I have to say I agree completely with this post.

The result was made clear after the implementation of the 1.1 patch.

This game has really taught me a lot. This patch specifically.

I will never play another MMO that has a pvp stat like resilience/expertise, and I will never play another MMO that does not have properly implemented RvR.

DAoC had it right, so either games get things closer to DAoC or im out.

I will continue to play SWTOR until GW2 comes out, after that im out of here. Guild Wars 2 has pvp done correctly, 3 realm wide war? yeah.. ill take that over Illum and expertise any day.

I would rather have cool looking gear than impressive stats i need to replace in a patch or two.
