I would also suggest that if you are having problems with AA and currently OC your CPU or GPU outside of factory shipped specs, back those overclocks out and try enabling AA again.

I had my i7 2600K CPU OC'd to 4.4 Ghz and had all kinds of nasty graphical artifacts, freezing, hanging, crashing, etc. only when AA was enabled. Disabled it would run fine. I backed out my CPU overclock back to stock and AA worked for 2 hours with no problems.

Now if they could just get rid of the new flickering issue. . . *sigh*

This fixed it for me, went from i5 2500k @4.5 back down to 3.3 (stock) and am having no issues. As Sinfulblade mentioned, seems as though their AA doesn't work well with OC'd CPUs - which is really a bummer that this game can't work correctly with.

Greetings all. I know we have all been having trouble with the new patch and fps. I actually did something that returned my game to pre-1.1 fps and graphics. I saw this hinted to in another post, and I just want to verify that it worked for me.
So, what I did was go to my settings folder (C:\Users\Jae\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings), do not paste this into your search bar, because it has my name in it, but follow a similar path. Take your client_settings.ini and Graphics_mirror.ini files out of that folder and move them to the desktop (in case this doesn't work). Then load the game normally, and at the character selection screen, bring up your graphic settings and change them as you desire and apply. Then spawn in.
My fps went right back to where I had managed to get them pre-1.1 after this short process. Hope it helps someone else.

Alright, I go to c:\Users\myname\appdata\local and in the local folder is only a temp folder, no SWTOR folder. Any ideas?

I am running win7
