This is too true. Our guild is a good example of that. I think we got our 6th? Level 50 player yesterday - a few others are close and the rest are somewhere between 25 - 45. Its only the people who can play all day every day ( a minority ) who power through games so fast then they get bored easy - cause of too many hours in game.

But I have been playing 4 Characters since the Early access days, and none of them are 50. A 38 Sage and a 25 Juggernaut are my mains, and they both seem to be taking time to level. What I notice is that if I go mission hunting, and do as many of the sides as i can, i get above the level of the missions more quickly than i care for. Not gray, by any means, but by the time I hit the level 34+ Balmorra missions, I was 36. That kind of thing.

I don't think the overall leveling is too fast, I think the sheer volume of missions means that you can level out of a range without too much trouble. But that isn't a BAD thing.

I currently have two lvl 50 toons and i do not agree the leveling is fast. It took me 7 days of 12+ hours playing to reach level cap.

And that is WHY it's too fast.

When I played EQ1.. leveling took time. You had Hell levels (every tenth level took much more XP to get through than the previous levels), and getting your levels was an accomplishment. If you were level 50, you got there after MONTHS of hard work and play, not a cpl weeks (or in some players cases a cpl days).

So yeah, leveling in this game is WAY WAY to fast. Personally, I'd say they need to at minimum, double or triple the XP requirements for each level, but that is just my own personal opinion, and others like you will feel differently, but that's ok really.

Myself, I prefer to feel like I accomplished something when that new level is acquired. Right now, I feel like it has been handed to me on a gilded plate with virtually no effort on my part to have earned it. And no, I don't spacebar through my dialogs (usually).

I just don't see how people level so fast, I'm not new to MMO's I've played WoW and several others for years. I've been play TOR since 2nd of early access and while I do not play 24 / 7 like some people (I do work and enjoy time out side) I would have to say I spend at least a few hours a day in game.

That said, I'm only at lvl 39, I do a moderate mix of dailies, PvP, and questing. It seems to be going by for me at a slow but healthy pace, I don't see it being fast at all.

Myself, I prefer to get my sense of life achievement from something that matters, not vicariously through a videogame.

If you want uber slow leveling, there are several Korean MMORPGs tailored for your playstyle and desires.

Agreed. It would be so easy to have a button to (a) turn off rested xp and/or (b) turn off xp gain completely - as an OPTION.

Even better, bring in something like the Alternate Advancement scheme from EQ where you can OPTIONALLY divert a % of your xp gain into developing one of a range of over a hundred new skills and abilities, broken down into General, Archetype and Class. Allows much more diversity amongst characters and allows you to something other than rush to end game and then sit there bored.

While those where the good ol days that's also why MMO's back then had relatively low subscription numbers (a couple hundred thousand if they where lucky) instead of millions. The average gamer just doesn't want to spend that much time leveling, the hardcore MMO fan is a niche group unfortunately.
