I never played wow, not sure about their arena system being required and all. But I unsubbed yesterday, meaning I'm out after the free month, which ends today for me. Reason being there's no decent PvP. People who think the current PvP gear system and PvP maps qualify as decent, have never played a game that actually had good PvP. Every game company can throw in a PvP map and give it an objective, and the SWTOR ones are among the worst I've seen. There need to be brackets, rating, soloers split from premades, good maps, reworked PvP gear system and a reworked Ilum zone. But then again, even if they add all that, it will take months and I probably won't resub anymore because we'll be close to GW2. And that is a game that actually cares about its PvP.

Balancing around 2v2 or 3v3 arenas kills games. Everything gets homogenized ala WoW. Every class should not be a counter for every class. Every class should have a counter. The mini game of arenas was figuring out which class combo was the most OP per patch.

Last time I saw PvP I was playing daoc.. wow has pvp? lolwhat. As for now, the only real pvp is in EVE, but again.. it's not about elves or jedi's.

I just remember that they pronounced arena games anyways.. so just wait and chill. u need the champion gear first anyways so stop crying folks.

I think you mean announced. And B they said no arena. To the OP I am all for arena bring it on if that is what you enjoy thats great go ahead. However do not add on the stupid idea that the only way to get any kind of good gear is through arena. You shouldn't need super powerfull gear if you are as good as you say you are. Arena style play is fine as long as the game is not balanced around it, and it does not provide any advantage over Warzones. If you are good you wont need that advantage anyway.
The only rule of pvp. Adapt or Die.

All in all, PvP in this game 100% sucks, but if you could do a few things such as: Get developers to talk to the community on a regular basis, and add Arenas, you will bring over an entire swath of players stretched across several dying MMO's including WoW. I'm a multiple rank 1 gladiator in several seasons of Arena in WoW and have played every "WoW Killer" that has failed and the one thing I can tell you that killed all those games: NO ARENA, NO DEVELOPER FEEDBACK. GG I didn't read this tldr, but. I agree, this game needs arena. The rest of the pvp is mediocre.
