Case and point: Rift

They also didn't spend 300 million dollars on the game, but they also made leveling harder, had more endgame content, and had 5 different specs you could go, as well as changing your class role to be extremely versatile. (As a Rogue I could go several ranged builds, several melee builds, support builds, hybrid builds, and a few tanking builds).

There was 10x more options in Rift. Endgame it was better than SWTOR.

Guess what?

Rift died.

Why? Because of PvP. There was no competitive PvP.

You are digging yourself a 300 million dollar grave. Stop being stupid. WoW didn't get to 13 million subscribers in The Burning Crusade for just PvE. PvP has evolved to the point where you can't have a competitive MMO without it, hence why every "wow-killer" has failed and so will you if you do not add Arena in.

I have 100% faith that Guild Wars 2 will destroy the MMO market because of it's F2P model and competitive PvP System. I don't mind pay to play, but without the competitive Arena's a game becomes ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

You will see, PvPers will leave. You will fail because you don't have a "Ghostcrawler". An active PR dev who speaks openly with the community on balance issues, you don't have Arena, and your reward system is absolutely horrible, and your world PvP is worse than your instanced PvP.

All in all, PvP in this game 100% sucks, but if you could do a few things such as: Get developers to talk to the community on a regular basis, and add Arenas, you will bring over an entire swath of players stretched across several dying MMO's including WoW.

I'm a multiple rank 1 gladiator in several seasons of Arena in WoW and have played every "WoW Killer" that has failed and the one thing I can tell you that killed all those games:

NO ARENA, NO DEVELOPER FEEDBACK.

I like how everyone in every "WE NEED ARENAS" thread claims they're a "multiple rank 1 gladiator", as if that shows any experience in the matter.

More of a Feedback post than anything. Arena doesn't make a game. It helps the PvP'ers that spend all their time rushing to end-game levels, and getting all the gear asap. Only to face level 10's (in this game) and get made cause they got no skillz yo.

I think you're just upset because you don't want to re-roll 8 times+ and experience the game content they have created. You are a victim of WoW and are expecting end-game items now neow NOA! or you will rage quit and go play wow again.

I honestly hope you decide that this game has something besides instant gratification for your needs, and give it a shot in a few months.

Wait until 1.3 then come back. By that time, you can be playing with panda's and gnawing on bamboo canes so you can look back at this launch as some sort of excuse to do something else until you had more content to feed on from a black and white perspective.

Aaaaanyway... I'm going to sleep while I bask in the glory of Blizz and his awesomeness...

Why is it every player on this forum that has pvp suggestions was a "gladiator" in wow.

I never got Glad or even close to Glad in wow but the fact that it was competitive and that I could challenge myself and friends to arenas and see who could get higher in arena or how high we could get kept me involved in the game and interested in it for a very long time.

There is no competition in pvp right now. Ranked warzones will add some but lets be honest. In wow the participation rate of arenas compared to ranked battlegrounds was staggering. (Much more participated in arenas in case you didn't know)

I don't object to arenas, its just that all players must have access to the same gear, its a disaster to allow uber geared pvpers into regular warzones..
Greetings from a red zone far far away in the land of oz, abandoned & ignored by EA's corporate fatcats

Arenas ruin world PvP worse than warzones.
Warzones are bad enough.
