Some of them 50's are like armored tanks now you can't even touch em if your twenty levels lower hell we had a whole team trying to take down a 50 powertech the other day in huttball we couldn't stop him from scoring 6 times in a row lol.....

I'm sorry but yes sometimes its focus fire but more often its a 50 stunning me and killing me in two shots when he is thirty levels above me and I can't even move before I'm dead...
meanwhile another tank is guarding that guy... and two healers are left to heal him
"OMG we can't kill him!"

as a corruption sorcerer healer, i always run with a powertech... the reason people can't stop us is because 99% of the time, they try and stop just one of us

expertise does make a difference... but it doesn't make up for skill either... been plenty of matches where I've seen the less geared team win... simply due to communication and team work

and 99% of the people whining about pvp... are the same people that don't have the PASS HUTTBALL keybound, or check their minimap during voidstar, or will purposefully not target the person capping a point in Alderaan just to try and get that last bit of dps in on a person to try and kill them

on wins in huttball, myself and my powertech buddy rarely break 70k dmg, i'll usually be 200k heals, and we'll both be around 10-20 kills... with multiple caps each

if those numbers don't make sense to you, you need to figure it out

1) Ilum as it stands now (pre-pacth) is just a bad joke, but these changes are not going to change anything. Possibly, they will make it worse. They will only discourage Reps from going to Ilum at all. Reps (lower population numbers on ALL servers) will never get the valor bonus and never be able to complete their dailies. Truth is: You cannot succeed at open world PvP in a game with 2 factions unless you manage to balance them out in terms of population.

2) Even if their plan to encourage Ilum PvP succeeded for now, what happens when people reach the top PvP rank and do not need Valor anymore? Elementary my dear Watson: They will stop going to Ilum leaving the area deserted. I have seen this same idiocy happen in Rift. They launched PvP rifts and people played with them for a week. After that open world PvP was dead again.

DEAR BW, YOU NEED TO IMPLEMENT AN OPEN WORLD PVP SYSTEM WHICH IS MEANINGFUL AND KEEP PLAYERS INTERESTED IN FIGHTING EACH OTHER!!!
Here is what needs to happen to keep people interested in Ilum: rotate vendor rewards, making all reward items limited issue for a set duration of no less than a few weeks and no more than a few months.

Make these items

(1) very, very cool to look at,
(2) useful in PVP, or
(3) both.

Make them a challenge to earn within the set timeframe, such that players would have to kill (X+) number of players on Ilum every week for the duration of that item's finite availability. In addition to this, include bonus bags containing a wide array of RNG gear and vanity items---some common, some rare---that players have a shot at earning while working toward their main goal of the items plainly visible on vendors and achievable through consistent daily Ilum PVP.

This will lead to continually renewable goals using the same content, ensuring that players are always striving for whatever the latest and greatest Cool New Thing(tm) is.

After 12 years playing MMORPGs, if there is one thing I have learned regarding what motivates MMORPG players, even PVP players, it is this:

Cool loot is everything.

It is always, always the bottom line. No matter how well-crafted an area is, as soon as players have earned everything they can from it, they will either (1) leave and fondly reminisce about how great it used to be, or (2) stay and continually complain about the lack of new content.

It bears saying a second time: players who earn everything a particular PVE or PVP venue offers rapidly grow bored and clamor for new content.

You have to keep the carrot out there, or players will stop playing. In the long view, while development on new content proceeds slowly, swapping out vendor items with new, cool vendor items is a small thing that should lead to big results. Those results should be

(1) an elite of dedicated, but not necessarily "leet" players that possess items no longer available, and

(2) an ever-engaged PVP population hoping that this time, this time, they'll get the Cool New Thing(tm) they really want before time is up.

And that's my 2 credits on keeping world PVP fresh and exciting.

I have a hard time believing that Queue times will increase considering that MOST of the warzone matches I have are usually comprised of Premades with minimum six 50s on each team.

I know that, what I meant was that I have a HARD time not being in a warzone with anything under six 50s on both sides. On Tuesdays when weeklies reset I often see full 50 groups with the regulars match after match.

I am not on a PvP server, so perhaps its just the two rather large PvP guilds we have, but rarely have I seen lowbie warzones. My sever is high pop as well.

In the future you need to move toward a sandbox direction, creating planets where we can build our own bases for our guilds, with the chance to assault and defend them. Take a look at Archeage or DAOC, and just copy from them.

Do this or fail.
^ This. But I've lost all faith in decent/open world/mass PvP in SWTOR. Go to Ilum and do 8v8s + toss in some spectators and you'll lag out and your computer explode. The Ilum battlefield is epic but it simply can't handle more than a handful of players at once. Sad but true.
I don't judge a game by how old or new it is, I judge it by what it is when it is presented to me.

As for Tera, its a korean game, it will be full of bots and what not so enjoy playing that as well. I thought it would be a good game, but looking at it and what my friend told me (Sinve he is in beta), the game will offer fun for a little bit and die pretty quick. but you never know.

You guys all speak like this game has been out for 1 year or something. The game is not even ONE MONTH OLD! Have some darn patience and learn to understand that all MMO's have issues at launch. Yes, even Rift had them. WOW was even worse then this and look at it, it's the #1 game in the world right now as far as MMO's are concerned.

TOR has things lined up and I am pretty sure they will fix things. They admit to Ilum being a mess and they will fix it. It's a process that isn't done in one day. Also, class balancing, they said they will start doing that march-april'ish.

Learn to have patience people.
Talking about fanboys?

You played GW2 right.......or it was in CBT wich was only for family and friends from Arenanet employees.

I agree though on Tera, it will be a grindfest like Aion is.

Anyways, SWTOR is a boring crap game, most instanced **** i seen in years in an MMO. If you can call this a MMO with the "many" players you encounter on the map.

Better play games from Trion, better company than BioWare and they actually listen to their players, same goes for Arenanet.

Bottom line is.........in uninstalled this **** because its one big pile of crap. They wont get my money.

Well, on our RP-pve server, when I realised we constantly play against 6+ lvl 50 imps i just stopped pvp altogether. Was hoping for 1.1 to return and have some pvp fun but .... seems like it is back to mats gathering.

Look to DAoC for good RvR ideas. We need objectives that can be captured and defended by guilds. Fortresses and star ports maybe? We also need incentives to roll Republic, such as xp and commendation bonuses.
