Let me point you to:

EVE Online
Guild Wars
And others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Just because something is all you know doesn't mean its all there is.

You can't blame an MMO gear based game to be... an MMO gear based game, instead ask yoursel if you didn't do the wrong choice in first place.

You should play GW or LoL instead of SWTOR, these are games where gear does not matter.

@zqsd

You wrote: "Why should a player who spent time to farm pvp gear should'nt destroy you, who did not?"

I think you meant to write: "Why should a player who spent time to farm pvp gear not destroy you, who did not."

In which case I would say: Because that only serves to deter new people from playing PvP, and turns PvP into a handi-capped match where you're playing against a person's equipment, rather than the person.

Why does an experienced PvP player need an artificial bonus against new PvP players? Do you really suck that bad?
Nerf not, lest ye be nerfed.

PvP = Supposed to be about a fair competition, not whoever is most geared wins.

Using PvE based progression in PvP is absurd. If you want to see how a PvP system should work, look at GW2. When you want to PvP everyone basically is put in equal gear with access to the same skills. Then everything comes down to skill, as it should be in PvP.

edit: And I didn't mean same skills as in every class has the same skills, just that you have access to skills you haven't unlocked via PvE yet while PvPing.

There should be no gear progression in PvP. At all. Other then fancy mounts or vanity gear.

Also ranking is perfectly fine. Then there is "progression" in a sense that you get special titles and prestige for being better then other people. Being ranked higher does not mean you deserve a gear advantage so you can laugh at new players and tell them how bad they are because you take zero damage and two shot them.
What about those who play only PvP? shouldn they have something to work for?

its not all about PVE.

This thread is a copy of the gear gap thread in WAR two years ago. Guess what WAR is dead

I wish bioware would learn and stay clear off auto win gear. I understand now SWTOR will fail because of the same design flaw.

L33t players with crutch will defend the right to have an unfair advantage.

That is completely ignorant. If people wanted to farm gear, they would PvE, if they wanted to compete against other players, they then PvP. To say 'some guy had less of a life then you and so already has the battlemaster title and is fully geared out' means he should auto win PvP is just the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

EA pulled WAR devs out of Mythic to work on SWTOR, because of their impressive track record at making an mmo that has stood the test of time

Same devs, same mistakes. :mindblown:

The real problem: Unbracketed PvP Warzones and uneven distribution of gear through RNG nonsense.

Also, OP is a massive tool.

Because the gear shouldn't make it impossible to kill someone in a 1v1 scenario. If Bioware wants to make and all-level-wide PvP system, there should be some sort of a balancing factor for expertise. Now that 50 brackets are being implemented tomorrow, none of this is really an issue so I think I might just stop posting because every 50 is going to say that expertise is fine against a level 20 such as myself and everyone that hasn't been farming tons of valor every game is going to disagree.
