Im thinking of using my mouse macro ability while soloing.
1 macro key goes like.this: pommel strike, if cant than swipe,if cant thn sunder thn slash.
2nd macro key goes like this: pommel, if cant.thn swipe, if cant thn riposte, if cant thn overhead, if.cant thn bladestorm, if.cant.thn slash.
This way macro chooses.automaticaly the best ability availiable.for.me at the moment .
I am free to decide wether to generate or spend focus, and free to concentrate on interrupts and survivability.
Im level 33 right now and i think this macros will work great for me to solo .
Of course, they will be way less viable.in pvp or.wn.tanking.in group.
What is your opinion on these macres?

You can use hardware macros if you have devices such as a G13/15 or a Naga mouse. SWTOR does not have in-game, software based macros, that doesn't mean you can't use other forms of macros.

@OP: How are you going to script the condition detection to determine if said ability is available for use? If you're just using the software on your mouse, it's not going to communicate with the game to determine what abilities are, or are not, available

The Issue with these macros is the GCD and animation mechanics that cause issues with external macros. I tried for a short time with my Razor macro system and no matter how I tweeked the delays and press speeds, there were so many skips and missed moves. It became better and easier to do it all manually the way BW wants it.

You can do this all automatically with your brain and keybinds.

You can do all this while focusing on interupts and cooldowns.

I have a naga, and while you can script this, like someone has said already it's very difficult to get the timings right and I think there must be multiple things in BW's coding that has made it impossible for us to put in multiple inputs in a string with a single button press that screws up the translation from game to mouse.

In the end, just get used to doing all of these things manually and you will never need the macros.

More than likely if we do get macros they'll be Blizz style macros instead of Trion style macros(using current generation terms). Where you get one character "action" per macro but can have multiple conditions.

i dream about the day we get the companion macro system from Dragon Age for swtor...

about the mouse macro. i want to try simple "press 1" delay 50ms "press 2" delay 50ms "press 3" etc.

5 of this orders will take about 1/4 of a sec. best available skill (thts not on cooldown or have curtain conditions which were no met) will trigger.

50ms should be enough (it was on other games) so commands will be separate.

what im afraid is that ill end up with slash evry time (or more thn i should).

also, is it considered cheating?

Use AutoHotKey. Make sure you use "#UseHook On" to avoid loops and if you're on Vista/7 you'll either need to turn off UAC (I don't recommend that) or compile the script and run it as administrator.

I, personally, have several macros I run. One tries to Force Leap, and if not Sundering Strike, and if not that then just Strike. Another (my "Oh ****!" button) does Saber Ward, then Warding Call, then Enure and resets after the three minute cooldown of Saber Ward (I was particularly proud of that one).
