This game badly needs mods and macros.

How you fail to see the difference in game play because of it puzzles me. Yes an alarm clock simply display the time, but having the functionality to make an audible noise alerting me to what information it already displayed is doing more than simply changing how it displays the already available information.
I hate analogies because they more often than not don't apply wholly to a situation and tend to be hyperbole at best.

That aside, the bosses tend to yell things or have very blatant visual cues as to what ability they are using. DBM is more often ignored than used unless you're just learning a fight.

Fine, managed it without an issue in Cata and WotLK so can't seeing MoP being an issue. Altho perhaps you'd like to point out what information exactly DBM is providing that the game doesn't?

Until they offer official support those not using 3rd party peripherals will be at the disadvantage.

And currently BioWare sanctions no macros and addons

Let's use just one small teeny example of what I'm talking about...

If BW thinks that mouseover-targeting/healing is a desirable/preferred/sanctioned feature, I'd much rather BioWare add it into the game so it is available to everyone and not just those who use macros.

Countdowns and notifications to enrages, phase changes, incoming special attacks & debuffs to name few.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Again, if you're in a hard-core progression guild, addons like DBM aren't going to do jack for you because it won't have the info on the fights yet. Your guild will have downed the boss on PTR before even going live.

And how exactly do you think DBM knows about these things if not from the game?

I'd much rather they just allow what functions they're going to allow through an API and focus on bug fixes/content generation personally.

Ahhh that's why i love them, used right you get your point across while deflecting arguments. A poor analogy just opens holes though.
