This game badly needs mods and macros.

I think you misunderstand what mods rely on. For this to work in game, Bioware would have to develop and gives us acces to the games API. The mods would be dependent on BIOWARES design and control of the API they built.

The only way its 3rd party then is the fact that users create it. Otherwise it would use official bioware code, run inside their program. Think of it more like a plug in for your browser.

Actually, pretty much every level-appropriate end game boss fight in WoW requires them now, which is why I left. The game's fight mechanics have devolved into hairbrained fire drills designed to beat cheats like DBM. Blizz has done such a good job conditioning its faithful that addons are necessary that their faithful now believes addons are required for every other game they play.

Some rudimentary addon functionality being built into the game would be nice, like UI customization and a combat log. But no addon is a need. Need implies being unable to do without. If the game truly needed them then it would be unplayable. It is quite playable (more playable than WoW was after 4 weeks anyway) which makes them wants - not needs. Not knowing the difference between want and need is a big reason why this topic has taken up 1,000+ pages over multiple threads. Cracks me up.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

I'm sorry, but no. I often used nothing more than recount and then just for my own curiosity.

You seem to be a reasonable and intelligent person, but your posts and sig reek fear of DBM and decursive.

Those things should be feared as I agree they ruin game play, however that fear should not keep the game at a console level of customization.

I think my analogy of addon's to the game being akin to plug-ins for your browser holds well. Firefox runs just fine for me by itself, however i happen to like having Ad block and No script enhance my web browsing experience.

While your raid leader who does have DBM calls out "Ok, in 10 seconds take 5 steps to the left!" or "5 seconds till <boss ability>, everyone stack!"

Can i ask what is really the differnce between DBM warning than a visual warning that this game has and if you say you have to watch the screen im gonna say BS there both the same its just smart on blizz's dev cause you know why they dont have to waste time making visuals this idea that add-ons make the game easier is just stupid BS.

what makes the game easier is devs making the game easier what you think blizz cant make there game harder think cata BOT,BWD and al'akir which all of at the start and pretty much most of was unpuggable even the dungeons were pretty hard until the masses started crying omg its to hard so they nerfed the hell out of them so saying that add-ons make the game easier its the community that makes the game easier so stop blaming the tools blame the people who cant use the tools.

No. I know the fights and know where to be and when without having to be told.

All DBM is, is an "idiot light." "Hey, you're in the fire." "Yeah, he's channeling Shatter in case you didn't see that -- run away."
