Not all have the Home-Edition, i use Professional 64bit allowing up to 192 GB of Ram...

To bad SWTOR is 32-bit, so its only gonna address 2 gb max anyways. Textures load in GPU memory, so more vid memory might help, but not 100% sure of that. SSD SATA III still long. But as above poster said, over time they will optimize the assets, but they got game breaking priority issues that they're gonna tackle first.

This issue is a very big annoyance to many players.
Those that Play PvP and are constantly bouncing from a planet that they are doing daily quests and Pvp for warzones.

I site belsavis as the big offender as I am doing level 50 daily quests, there are 11 that can be done a day.
If I am in a queue for a warzone and doing the dailies it become a pain in the butt when I finish a warzone and have to wait for Belsavis to load.. almost a minute.
You may say that's not long... but in 2012 IT IS LONG...it should be maybe 10 seconds , and should be less.
If I am on Belsavis and loading to the warzone it takes maybe 10 seconds. Unless I get crashed to character screen...another big issue.

EABW get the load times shortened. This is a poor design on your part.
There is hardly any players on these planets... maybe 300 at peak... Other games have similar numbers for a zone... this is a planet with 4-5 zones.
I agree. I have slow setup I admit and only 4 g memory. My HDD is usb connected so its not really fast. But result is that if I come war zones the loading can be so slow that I am already entering new war zone with 15-20 seconds left.

But it can't be as such HDD issue only. When I started the game my loading to WZ's was much faster as was all transitions. Last week has been horrendously slow.

I could think its because I am 45+ planets but same increased slowness has also occurred when I move from Warzone to Carrick station after war zone has ended.

And this is not an system issue either on my side, since I've actually removed lot of applications from processes to make my fps higher lately. In all terms I should have now lighter and faster system before. However loading times still keep rising.

Oh ok, i just dream the 3.4 GB swtor takes while running. And the recommended 4 GB of Ram printed on the DvD case are a typo... I dont know what OS you are running but mine doesnt need 2.5 GB for itself...

More people on so your probably adding more assets, hence longer load times. But 4gb Ram and a ext USB drive is not really optimal at all. If it's usb 2.0 they only reach max trasnfer rates in burst, it's not consistent. You would have been better off with a esata ot firewire ext drive. Plus the RPM on drive. Your OS is probably using 1.5-2gb of memory (win7) plus the game is using 2gb ram, then it has to use virtual memory (hard drive) which will make it crawl.

We installed an SSD in my computer this week which cut my load times in half. I just need more memory now. My husbands computer hardly takes any time to load with his SSD and alot of memory.

That # can reflect virtual memory. And they recommend 4 cause if swtor uses 2 then you do need memory for your OS also lol

Hmm, my OS needs idle only 836 atm, while antivirus and firewall running (two separate programs). I normally dont use the fancy visual themes of Win 7, but just to see what happens, i activated all of these. My Ram usage jumped to 1.21GB, still antivirus and firewall running. Then i started swtor and Ram usage jumped to 4.7 GB overall. Please explain me, how that "32 bit application" takes so much memory.

I've got 8 gb and it takes me about 10 seconds. Clearly you can't ride on RAM alone.
