I enjoyed the pvp in warhammer. The warzones are about PVP not about a damn ball. Whats the point of skipping the facesmashing to take a ball across a line? I am exactly the kind of player you hate. Ignore the ball and kill whoever is around me (or get owned mostly )

There was one scenario where you have to hold on to the totem thingy as long as possible that was kind of simliar, and actually one of my favorites.

Scoring does not need any reward in huttball. The point awards should be for PASSING the ball.

My main is a tank specced Jedi Guardian with 300+ expertise and yes, I can pick up the ball and walk/leap to the end zone and score with minimal effort but by far the best and most efficient games involve multiple passes (even from me). Spreading the ball around keeps the opposing team completely off balance and doesn't even require multiple spam healers and people peeling because the opposing team simply doesn't have time to burn down a ball carrier that only has the ball for 2-3 seconds. This also has the upside of leaving your team in a position to then grab the ball again and quickly repeat.

Rewarding walking the ball across the goal line just encourages more idiots that pick up the ball and try to walk the entire way when 2-3 passes could get the ball there almost instantly. Furthermore, as has been pointed out, even when these idiots manage to score it is entirely through the coordinated healing / cc provided by the other 7 team members.

tldr: Passing chains >>> Dead wannabe heroes.

The Murder Ball one in the underground cavern type place (if memory serves)? Where the thingy would put a stacking DoT on the person holding it so you had to pass it around and eventually look to get it to a tank and stuff?

That one was awesome if it's the one I'm thinking of

Is WAR F2P now? I kinda miss my old Swordmaster, maybe I should re-download it. Not worth a subscription particularly but I'd gladly tool around in Scenarios and level up again sometime.

Lets use some critical thinking skills here: give me one reason this might be a poor deisgn.
That is why you reward the *team*. Half of the reward should be the team with most kill/damage , the other half for winning.

To be honest, this had frustrated me at first too, but the points made against giving a medal for scoring make sense.

So, a few potential 'compromises' if you will:

1) Give some/more objective points if you score/assist. This is not a number that (in my knowledge) affects badges, but shows to others that you assisted with the victory (or attempt for victory).

2) Give the person who scored / assisted (maybe just scored?) an extra MVP vote. This gives them some benefit for that score as well as a bonus to others on the team, without breaking the badge system or causing massive ball hogging.

I definitely think there should be some counter or something that tells others you either scored or assisted, but understand why there are no implicit rewards for doing either.

They are down to 2 servers. Doubt they ever put hte $$$ in to go F2P.

Off topic but to answer: No its not free to play, they are bringing out a free to play scenario type thing tho, which is quite good if you havea full premade.... It's called Wrath of Hero's, currently in Beta testing, anyone with a war account can Beta test it.

They upped the rr to 100, so you will struggle in RVR now if you are less than 90...or have a good group to carry you...

Maybe not straight up rewarding the person carrying the ball across the line, but I do feel there needs to be a bit more of an incentive/reward for actually playing the game over fighting in the middle. Maybe some kind of assist points for healing a carrier, guarding a carrier, taunting off a carrier, killing an enemy attacking the carrier or passing the ball ONLY on a scoring play?

Not a perfect solution, and I'm sure you all will pick it apart, but yeah, I'm not a fan of me and a friend scoring 2-3 times each and ending with 0 medals
