It's like super extended free trial for people that wouldn't otherwise play or even try the game. People will play it because it's free. A lot of people must be reluctant to even try TOR because of it's immense negative feedback by everyone but a paid journalist.
What do you mean immense negative feed back. I dont know about you but I've found a lot more positive reviews than anything, and trust me by the time most people predict that this will go free to play we will see major improvement in almost every aspect.

Any other questions?

And your title is misleading. You don't explain why you think free-to-play would work for this game.
Ummm guild wars 2 will be f2p, gulld wars 1 was as well. That's always been there thing. No subs.

NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

The free to play model is where MMOs go to die.

F2P means free client download and no monthly fee. Guild Wars 2, will require you to purchase the game, just like the original Guild Wars. It will not have a monthly fee though. GW2 will be B2P aka Buy-to-Play.

No and when I say no I mean HELL NO!!!

If you F2P bums spent as much time looking for a job as you do lobbying for MMO's to go F2P then you wouldnt have to spend so much time lobbying for F2P MMO's to start with.

NOTHING in life is EVER free only someone incredibly stupid or naive or both would ever think that.

There are unseen costs associated with going F2P that are never mentioned by the F2P camp that smart people (subscribers) will gladly pay money not to have to deal with.

Server lag from parasi...umm F2Pers, longer que times, incredibly horrid pickup groups for flashpoints, people who havent contributed anything to the game other than a warm body cluttering up the boards with their wants and needs, proliferation of gold farmers, the list goes on and on.

No, no they would not be good for the game. You OP are incorrect. Run along now... go play... be nice to the other little kids.

I hate to be the devil's advocate here but a monthly fee doesn't necessarily mean a quality game.

I mean look at WAR, for example. I'd rather play a F2P game than that garbage.

A RMAH like D3 would be vastly superior

The fact that you would ever play a F2P game to start with disqualifies you from ANY argument pertaining to quality.

Thats like someone just leaving the buffet at Golden Corral trying to say the food at Outback sucks.

Don't see a list of games so how can we be sure about comparable pricing models.

I was in a top raiding guild also. Your brother's experience doesn't equal everyone's.

"Not to mention if he is a subscriber he gets 500 points per month, plus what ever points he gets just for playing the game."

And non-subscriber? So you are equating a person not only subscribing, which is not F2P, and paying on top of that.
Friend reference, you get 7 daysof free subscription,
free character transfer, and items mailed to all your characters.
