Yet throwing out the game lore it was created on, well they already did that with GW1s last release, but essentially they sold out to be more "mainstream."

Don't have a problem with them going to an MMO format

2- Each zone is dynamic, you can take one character through the zone, and then when you take another character through the zone it could be very different. Read more about their dynamic content, go to their website.
I'll believe it when I see it. There is a lot to go before this is happening to the level they claim.

Also, I wouldn't call selling more 7 million copies as a niche game.
How many of those are still active?

And finally they have shown themselves terrible at balancing, and constantly nerfing the game and even then still having to nerf more in the fabled Build Wars. i think I'll pass going through that again.

I understand the appeal for the F2P models for MMOs from both a business and a customer's point of view. That being said, I would rather play a flat subscription fee plus the price of the game for all the content present and future, then buy individual packs. I can see how it would be less expensive if depending on how much you spend in the store for me it isnt.
A 15 dollar subscription gives you access to the entire game. Expanisions act as giant cotent packs, count-less times bigger than the average F2P DLC packs. I dont like being nickeled and dimed for every little piece of content. I understand that paying a subscription fee acheives this in a different way, but it is the way in which subscriptions work that make me favor them over the F2P model.
I respect people who dont agree with me, but this is how I personally see it.

I wish you could pull a transcript of that interview. I didn't know that.

Remember reading somewhere, the industry standard percentage is quite a bit lower than that.

Care to support that claim?

I am happy paying my £8.99 per month, if it goes free to play I will uninstall it and move back to WoW (I have 6 months left in game time in WoW) I will not play SWTOR if it moves to a free to play model.

God no. The communities in F2P MMOs are terrible.

I would try to look for it on google, buuut, considering how often SWTOR and FTP get thrown around all over the internet, I probably won't find the interview in a timely manner to really make it worth it

They go free to play, I go elsewhere.

My friend who is a die hard LOTRO fan raids. In order to keep up with raiding he is on AVERAGE spending $25 a MONTH to stay in his raid group. If he stops paying for the things he needs to keep his character up with everyone else, they will drop him and pick someone else with the bank roll to pay the $25 a month on AVERAGE. Usually he is paying closer to $30 a month to stay competative.

Ill stick with a sub based $15 a month with all of my content and no stupid buff microtransactions that plague the F2P model, or as I like to call it the "Nickle and Dime" model.

If you want anything even remotely cool in a F2P game, be it a mount or a cool piece of gear, be prepared to pay IRL money for it.
