Enjoyed the game but not HOOKED

I know right. If there was even a question about whether I would be playing this game longer than a month there is no way in hell I would have paid $150.00 on the CE.

Thats unfortunate for you. I've come to the realization this is the best MMO in the marketplace right now. Its far from perfect, but there are enough carrots to keep me satisfied for a few months at least. And I've already eaten all the carrots in WoW that will be available before pandaland(10 months from now). So its this or nothing. I'll give it till summer at least.

So as we are nearing the end of the free month period, after buying the physical CE edition, I will probably NOT be resubscribing for next month. Sure, the game is a lot of fun, and the star wars atmosphere is novel, but at the end of the day, there is nothing about the gameplay and content that is substantially different than anything we have done before.

People keep yelling about judging the game on its own merits, and not based on the merits of the games that came before it, but unless you live in a bubble or could somehow erase your memories, that is just NOT REALISTIC. Maybe its not fair, but what comes after previous games/content NEEDS to innovate, and EXPAND upon what has come before. It is just not enough to EMMULATE. Sure, black and white TV's are awesome. Now give us color. Now give us 3D. Bigger, better, brighter not just diferent packaging.

The current MMO formula is proven, people like carrots. Gear carrots, skill carrots, level carrots. So as much as any game has those things, they will be at least minimally successful. But if you have been chasing carrots for 13, 7, 5 years, you DEMAND something more substantive from your gaming experience. Give your audience something new, not just left overs with some added seasoning.

Yeahhh at least he did not spend 800 dollars on a new computer (1000 if I had not kept my old graphics card).

Were playing the best of a bad situation. Well you are atleast, I'm not, unsubbed ^_^.
