The VO/story stuff needed to be heavily trimmed down maybe to a single 20 second cut scene in flashpoints and removed from non-chain side quests altogether. The sheer amount of VO in this game takes away from its intended novelty and it just becomes annoying. Too many cutscenes is a bad thing. I had thought game developers learned this back in the days of Final Fantasy on playstation 1.

What's ironic is they also (seemingly) spent around 90% of their development resources on overdoing something that's going to end up costing the game more than its worth.
That's one perspective. There are lots of people who feel the exact opposite, though. I love the cutscenes. After spacebarring through a flashpoint due to one guy who kept yelling at everyone... I have to say it makes the game a lot less fun, like we were just running through a hallway for XP and loot. Not doing that again (unless I've already seen all I want to see).

Too bad. I like the story. Hope you enjoy playing solo.
Looking for a good woman. Able to clean, cook, sew, catch bait, and clean fish. Must have boat and motor.
((Please send picture of boat and motor))

Most of you don't get it, but you will after farming these FPs.

First time in there? Check out the story, it's pretty awesome!
Fifth time in there? OMG, HIT SPACEBAR FASTER!!!

P.S. The hardmodes have the EXACT same story as the normal modes.

Please don't waste our time if it's not your first time in the FP.

Thanks!

I hate to mention this, but MMOs have stories and many players want to see them, especially the first time. So it is story time for many. Although they should also learn to read your LFG request and avoid your groups.

Beyond the first FP (BT or Esseles) they really DON'T have a story. It's always one cutscene with "**** THERE ARE: A) ENGINEERS B) CIVILIANS OR C) BABIES TRAPPED IN A CORRIDOR WITH ENEMY TROOPS. DO YOU A) KILL THEM ALL AND EASYMODE? OR B) SPARE THEIR LIVES AND WASTE YOUR TIME?"

Seriously. Not worth it to watch them.

First time in False Emperor was pretty awesome.

Same stuff, different day. People cannot finish reading a post before firing up their tar and feather gear and heading out to lynch someone.

Just to make this simple...Here is an ad:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOOKING FOR MEMBERS - NO CUTSCENES
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

At this point, if you want to watch cutscenes you can easily avoid this guy's group. It is his group, he doesn't want to watch them. He is not telling you not to watch them, he is telling you that his group is looking to skip them for whatever reason.

If you, a person who wants to watch the cutscenes, join his group, you are looking to get booted and rightfully so.

Why you people are so mad at him is beyond me. He has tried to tell people joining his group that they want to skip the cutscenes, yet people who want to watch them join anyways.

Instead of flaming the guy, just avoid groups that specifically say "NO CUTSCENES" if you want to watch them.
* Illegitimate casual gamer scum
* Those who can, do...those who can't, call everyone else baddies and demand crutches

Wrong. This game is story focused, otherwise they wouldn't have the cut scenes in the Flashpoints and such. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean others don't.

When I spam my LFM, I already add "no cutscenes" but people still refuse to hit the spacebar sometimes.

Edit: I think, for now, this issue has been resolved for me thanks to a helpful post by Zannis. I will be now be able to easily determine which player is being uncooperative and remove them.

Thank you for this helpful info. I had no idea you could determine this from the group portraits. My groups should run a lot smoother now that I can replace players who don't follow my politely stated rules.
You're playing a story-based MMORPG. ****. Honestly, the group convos aren't even that long.
