some people seem to think this is about abilities being affected by armor. it's not. armor is good and it affects a decent amount of abilities. tank gear and dps gear has the same armor rating

this is about shields and defense. shields and defense affect next to nothing, and therefore the tanking pvp pieces are not worth it compared to the dps gear. you gain an extremely small survivability increase for a huge dps decrease... the trade off is whacked

Second, Operatives have THE HIGHEST DMG in the game. Crits recorded over 8000 already in the first three weeks. They can kill someone with 3 seconds to spare on their stun.

2 Globals = 14000 dmg.

That is enough to kill a near full Tier 1 PvP geared player.

And Although you may be correct that the stat seemingly does nothing; if they fix that then Juggernauts with be much much much too strong and powertech's as well.

Also; Juggernaut TANKS, top the damage charts in 8/10 PvP Games some breaking 500,000 dmg in 10-15 minute games.
really tanks topping damage charts? what kind of terrible *** server do you play on where tanks out DPS sorcs, BH, Ops and their mirrors? I have NEVER seen a tank out DPS an actual DPS class. The only way i could see him topping damage
charts is if everyone else is a healer class and never fires a shot. Which i've never seen happen.

Bumpy bumpy

Can we just get a dev response saying if this is WAI or not? That's all most of us want so we can make an informed decision on the gear we choose for PvP,

DPS spec'd juggernauts invest heavily into the ability smash which scales well. They can make it automatically crit, talent into almost a 60% damage increase for it and make their force abilities crit higher. Basically the build revolves a round force choking some peasant, getting stacks of a multiplier, than dropping a smash into a group and critting them all for 5-6k.

Any variance in durability you see when attacking a tank is from their global cooldowns. It has nothing to do with any of their defensive stats besides armor.

I think armor is working as intended but some easily spammable abilities are simply bypassing it too. But they wouldn't if you could properly dodge/deflect/parry certain critical moves like grav round every so often. Or if shields blocked any move that wasn't building up to the real damage.

I'll post a link to the spreadsheet I made for the damages when I leave work.

Then it isn't a tank. There is no such thing as a tank class in TOR, just a tank spec and that isn't a tank spec it's a DPS spec and it's not different from the Jedi Knight Focus tree which is used by the Sentinel and the Guardian.

It's a DPS tree, if you're using it then you're DPS.

TORBeta 101.
I know chop-knees.
