Oh I have no issue with Corso wearing Tank armor. I think he looks very civillian when wearing the "Trandoshan" Heavy Armor that exists between Level 11-15 on Courscant. (Yellow armor, orange highlights, no Havoc markings)

Heavily armored is not an issue for me.

It's the "Stormtrooper" armor of the Trooper class that bothers me, because it seems to be the only thing available once you leave Courscant. Red, Blue, Green or Orange, it doesn't matter, all Heavy Armor I have seen beyond Courscant all bears the Havoc stamp on it.

BUT, I also wish that there was some more "civilian" looking heavy armor. BH stuff would be perfect, really. And from the story line so far, I can't imagine his character wanting to wear the Republic's military uniform.
Yes, exactly. The BH armor would be perfect. If we could get some BH greens from the Empire side added to the Republic loot tables, this so wouldn't be an issue.
Look, we got four or five of the main characters on this ship. I think we're gonna be okay.

Do you have some examples you could site? Because I haven't run into much in the way of mod armor (Heavy) that didn't have "Trooper" or "Jedi Knight" tags on it.

I know that you can get orange drops in the Flashpoints. However, the Orange pieces I have seen drop in Esseles and Hammer Station that have Aim, all seem to bear the Havoc insignia on them.

Where do you get yours from?

I would be happy to do so if I could find gear with the necessary stats. Could you give me some examples of the pieces you're using? Can you craft gear that looks more appropriate through armormech? If that's the case, I can level that on an alt.

This one really bothers me, because I feel like they were just trying to cut corners. If you can't put enough effort and detail into NPCs who stand side by side, how can we ever expect you to do it for any other part of the game?

As others have mentioned, collect all the orange gear you can find then mod it to the stats for your companion. Really if I wanted to I could make my trooper look like a Jedi since they have heavy armor as well. I just have to put the right mods in it. It takes more work but the option is there if you want to do it.

But I don't want Corso or Qyzen to look like a Jedi!

I want them to look like they should!

For example, I'd like Qyzen to be able to pull off a look similar to Bosk:

And I'd like to have Corso look similar to Dengar, but without the weird bandage head:

Just something. Anything really, so that all our companions, plus the Troopers, don't all look like this:

http://republicclonetroopers.webs.co...fd77a82e3c.jpg

Right now, this is what we have. Tons and tons and tons of Clone Troopers running around (Between the Trooper Class, Trooper Companions, Smuggler Companions and Consular Companions) with a handful of Smugglers and Jedi tossed in.

Variety would create a much more diverse and immersive world.
Look, we got four or five of the main characters on this ship. I think we're gonna be okay.

Answer is: No.

Would I like to see this addressed? Yes.

Can I wait for more pressing issues to be attended to? Yes.

Would I like a response from Bioware, at least acknowledging this issue, with some small quip about "yes we are aware about this, and are looking to get some more variety into the system in <insert time frame here>. Yes.
You created this thread. You wanted the forum's attention by the simple act of creating this thread. Don't get defensive when you get the attention you asked for.

Did you create this thread in this forum and expect warm fuzzies in response?

He is not a trooper. He is not a soldier in the Republic Army and he is certainly not a member of Havoc Squad, an elite special forces unit, that supposedly, only has 2-6 members, depending on where you are in the story.

So why does every piece of armor in the known Republic galaxy bear the Havoc stamp? Yet Empire armor, looks civillian?

/sigh

Because the devs didn't diversify their loot tables and armor models enough.

Doesn't matter that Corso was a soldier or trooper or whatever at one time.

He isn't anymore. He's running with me, a smuggler, and I'd like for him to look like one!

---edit---

Additional question to the devs:

Would it be difficult to port over some of the BH armor models on the Empire side, to be green drops on Republic side for companions?
You still don't understand. BW doesn't like Republic side and favours Empire - that's why that side has cooler looking stuff - didn't that ever cross your mind? There's even a whole section on this forum discussing this issue. Whether or not it's "really" true, that's another story but you do have to admit, empire does look better - I know, i play both sides - and no smart *** remarks either rofl....

I've been wondering if this could be the case.

All the cool stuff is on Empire!

It really shouldn't be that hard to take 1/4, or 1/2 of the models used for BH Heavy Armor Greens and Blues, toss them into the Republic loot table and call it good, right?
