The use of the Skyrim defense fails also. It has lag issues like no other on ps3 and its "offline" and single player.
I think I will wear pants today...maybe

The only point of comparison I think is unreasonable is that people expect ToR at launch to have the same amount of content (dungeons, raids, etc.) as WoW took eight years to build.

As far as game mechanics, UI, and those sorts of things, I think it's fair to expect WoW or better. In fact, the UI in this game isn't even as good as Star Wars Galaxies. The UI is actually painfully tedious to use in ToR.

My girlfriend can't run it AT ALL because she can't move - it's essentially freeze-frame, and her PC runs Rift, LotRO, And various other games at max settings.

The game has problems. It is NOT perfect.

With that said, I look forward to seeing a lot from this game - if they fix those issues.
But no, it is NOT the fault of players' having rubbish PC's, a great deal of the time.
But if this was an issue with the game we would all be having it, also the games you listed like LOTR etc.. are old games and will run on older machines.

I agree its not perfect and some issue are effcting everyone like the Lightning glitch from the towers etc..

When you fail to implement features that have been staples in the MMO genre for years, it presents a problem.

No AA, no LFG tool, no server transfer/race change/name change features, no combat log, no macros, no addon support, pitiful customer service, no high res textures, no crossrealm PvP...it goes on.

What compounds this failure is that they can see that other MMOs have these features. Why launch an unfinished product? If you know players want these things, and you know that these features are welcomed in other games, why would you refrain from including them?

its pretty much free to polish a t-u-r-d but the results are never good!
And then we have 7 or so years of constant flow of subscriptions, buying vanity pets, etc. Money is the issue because WoW has been improving over the years with the money they've been making.

Here's the test.

Name things that WoW could take from TOR to make it better.

Name things that WoW TOOK from other games like Warhammer and Rift that made it better.

I just fail to see where TOR raised the bar or even came up to the bar on the most basic things. Let me check my combat log in case I missed something.

WoW did not start with LFG, server transfers, combat log or race change, AA is being added next patch.

You can't compare one product from one company to a 7 year old product of another when said product hasn't bee on the market for years.

But WoW has them now, and yet this game doesn't.

SWTOR is a great MMO, but it's obvious it lacks some very basic things, even someone like you can't deny that.

-General developer community knowledge base of online code has evolved leaps and bounds.
-game engine technology has evolved leaps and bounds.
-Just with every genre developers learn from there peers and game development continues to evolve at a very rapid pace.
these are facts, not opinions.
Now knowing these facts, and knowing that this game was built with more money and time than Blizz had waaaaaaaay back in the day when they made WOW (ancient times in terms of game development). Its should be EXPECTED that the raid content isnt loaded with showstopping gamebreaking, utterly ridiculous bugs. It should be EXPECTED that the gameplay is as smooth or MORE SMOOTH than a 7 year old game in the same genre.
1+1=2, its just all facts that, no matter how much of a Bioware fan you are, you have to face as facts.
