In the case of Corso Riggs (the Smuggler companion) it's not a case of picking up the stuff you find on the ground. His character specific quest reward gear is stormtrooper gear.

It's kinda bewildering actually. Here I am, a dashing outlaw with no love for the Republic, and my first mate is running around dressed like a gd enlisted man.

That baffled me as well!

I got to Taris, and was like "Maybe I'll get some cool looking Corso specific pieces here."

Nope. Havoc Squad insignia bearing Stormtrooper gear.

/facepalm
Look, we got four or five of the main characters on this ship. I think we're gonna be okay.

Ever heard of military surplus? Why do you think civillian semi-auto rifles bear a striking resemblance to the military equivilent in many cases? Cost & consumer preference.

Anyway, most posters don't seem to have played many MMOs. The worlds are populated with clones. It's not economically viable nor practical to have each NPC be unique. Major quest givers/actors? Yes. Peon #124598 who most people won't even notice? No.

Even Han Solo wore Trooper armor at some point.

When I first saw the thread I thought you were talking about all of the NPCs that I keep seeing copies of all over the worlds.

They managed to make some civilian looking armors for Bounty Hunters.

Why couldn't they have offered up some of those models, recolored, on the Republic side for civillians?

Orange gear isn't always an option.

The majority of Orange gear has restrictions of Jedi Knight, Trooper on it. If it has that restriction, it can't be used on a companion.

Additionally, all the Heavy Armor in orange is either Stormtrooper or Jedi Robes.

I'd kill for a full set of Trandoshan orange armor that I could mod till endgame. That's the only civillian armor I've seen, and it was awesome, while it lasted.

I'm sure bioware will put this question at the top of their priority list and get an entire design team to fix this for you bro

don't worry, the world does revolve around you, in fact the entire galaxy does.

that was sarcasm btw.

Did I ask for this to be done immediately?

Did I go screaming "THIS MUST BE DONE!!!!!!1!!!111!!!"

Did I give any indication at all that I would quit if this was not fixed?

Answer is: No.

Would I like to see this addressed? Yes.

Can I wait for more pressing issues to be attended to? Yes.

Would I like a response from Bioware, at least acknowledging this issue, with some small quip about "yes we are aware about this, and are looking to get some more variety into the system in <insert time frame here>. Yes.

It would seem that Bioware is trying to remake "Attack of the Clones"!

Every where you look, all you see is Havoc Squad.

Troopers, wear Heavy Armor and look like Stormtroopers.
Trooper Companions, wear Heavy Armor, look like Stormtroopers.

This is ok. I am fine with this. And I'm fine with them all wearing the Havoc badge.

Here is what I'm not fine with:

Smuggler Companions, wear Heavy Armor, look like Stormtroopers.
Consular Companions, wear Heavy Armor, look like Stormtroopers.

Seriously, this annoys me to no end. To see Smugglers and Trandoshans, who aren't even military, wearing Havoc Squad gear, colors and insignia.

It's about as bad as going to an estate sale, buying an old set of military medals, then insisting that everyone refer to you as "Sarge".

When I play my smuggler, I can't stand that my companion, who I know is a smuggler, who has told me himself that he is a smuggler, looks like a Stormtrooper.

When I play my Trooper, it annoys me that everyone in the galaxy is either a Stormtrooper, or has a personal Stormtrooper bodyguard. It's a horribly inefficient waste of military resources! No wonder the Empire kicked our ... well you know what.

Please, I BEG YOU Bioware, can we get some more NON-STORMTROOPER looking Heavy Armor with Aim and Endurance? And please, don't make it robes. Plenty of those running around as well. Maybe some stuff that looks similar to the starter gear our companions recieve when they land on Courscant?

Qyzen and Corso would thank you profusely, and so would I.
The solution here is obvious.

Make the slave bikini wearable by male characters, too.
"Skill" is the only PvP stat anyone should ever need.
