Personally, I think all of the classes have their own individual strengths and weaknesses and work for different playstyles.

So level 8 or whatever is considered a high level or were the abilities show cased just high level? I would hope that level 8 or 10 or whatever level (cant remember) wasnt considered "high" lol.

Well, I actually said they were higher, not necessarily "high" level. One of the things to remember is that the early stages of most any game (single-player or MMO) are there to educate the user as to how to play the game. Once you get the basics down, you get more things thrown your way to learn.

This is the reason some people dislike people who buy high-level characters... because they basically are in the end-game without knowing how to play the game at all. They have a ton of options at their fingertips and have no idea any of the strategies or tactics in playing the game much less the character.

Anyways, back to my point... Yes, there is a bigger difference between characters that are Level 3 and 8 than you will see at the "high" levels. That's because the first few levels are there more to teach you general game mechanics and then we start showing you how "your" character plays.

That and we are still developing the game; I'm sure we'll do various balancing passes before the game launches to ensure that each class is fun to play and that none of them are obsolete or "uber".

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the update Sean. Finally a post from Bioware on this forum about there being other playable races. Bioware has mentioned this before but there will people in this community who weren't convinced for really odd reasons, ie "they didn't say yes".

Glad to hear it,.... nothing worse than an MMO with 80% of the population a particular class because its the only class that cannot be beaten or its just over powered.

I hope Bioware took notice of the issues Blizzard had with having Pallys on one side and Shammys on the other,...... I would wait an extra year for the game as long as the fundamental balances were in place,..... over a rushed job.

Love ya work

Thanks for clearing a few of these things up! Particularly glad that you squashed the "humans only??" rumors. Enjoyed the gameplay footage last Friday, and looking forward to seeing the Sith Warrior HoloNet tomorrow.
History is on the move. Those who cannot keep up will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

No, those things are what CLOSED Beta is for. Open beta is just for stress testing and final tweaking before launch.
