I look forward to that day immensely.

I also understand why Mark Jacobs didnt want offical forums for WAR when it launched.

The current state of MMO forums can be best described as rancid.

I don't necessarily think everyone who leaves TOR will be "going back to WoW." You should be scared though. What happened to DC was frightening (and they also had a dark-blue forum theme ).
This needed confirmation: I can assure you that the in-game support feature is not fake.
Ticket #1648696 12/26, finally answered on 1/13. There is hope!

1) I do not feel this is a WoW Clone.... it's two factions, with limited classses... it's more an AION clone in that aspect. it has ideas that have been in MMO's since before WoW existed. and is using ideas from mmo's that date to day one. more in a minute

2) the people here that complain if x doesn't happen i'm out... or i'm going back to WoW... they only want to impliment the ideas they think would benefit them from their WoW experience (IE: looking for Dungeon tool everyone sooooooooo wants... wait i don't want it... so everyone can't want it.)

3) it is a new game, and people don't treat it as such, they think that BW/EA had access to all of the secret files and notes from WoW and it should be perfect day one. hell WoW still isn't perfect and never will be, no mmo ever will be.

now a few things that are being used in SWTOR that peopel equate to begining in wow: skill trees... started in EQ1 with the Alternate Advancements and Wow changed it to more of a skill tree, AA had pre-reqs but there was no true "TREE". this one is not something in SWTOR YET but will be eventually as said by the devs. UI modifications. WoW did not start UI mods. EQ1 did. back in 2000-2001 between Velious and Shadows of Luclin. they changed the ui to one that could be modded. this is something that has to be done RIGHT or it will become a bad thing. There are more but this post is getting too long.

PS: I know that last sentence brought out several "TOO LATE" comments... if so GOOD! thanks for making me smile heh.
1. It is a bad WOW clone. Key bindings, mouse move and camera, abilities, talents, the list is endless.

3. Utter rubbish, what secret files. This is not sending a man to the moon, it is "implement a working GTN".

Skill trees. What utter rubbish. Go look up Diablo made by Blizzard. it actually DID have trees as in WOW.

Plus you are beating a dead horse "WOW did not start this and that". Who cares what WOW started. Look where WOW is today and look where SWTOR is. SWTOR needs another year's development to even approach WOW. Looking back in history for what once is a discussion for young children.

Why do people complain about petty little things so much I for one dont see how someone couldnt find swtor fun instead it gets picked apart over nonsense and I know it will only get better it's. New but I had to leave wow just for the sole purpos that I wasn't having fun anymore that game turned into a chore try leveling an alt even with the new cata quests i could vomit at the fact of killing pig people in the barrens or hyena men in west fall and the cata end game don't even hold my attention and whatever people say this game is. Of a 100 percent wow clone it's a Kotar mmo sure some basic mmo things like questing and factions and specs are in it but to me it's very refreshing and different not a wow clone. It a Kotar mmo

I think MMOs as a whole are becoming a fad. Once you've played one you've played them all in most cases. Until there's a big leap in both gameplay and graphics I don't think we'll see another WoW in terms of success.

That being said, EA will keep SWTOR going for a long time because there's a lot riding on it, so if you like it you shouldn't worry too much about it going under soon. Hell, if crap like FFXIV can somehow survive then SWTOR shouldn't have much trouble.

I don't think this'll be f2p anytime soon, neither do i think wow will crash anytime soon.
Tor might not (probably won't) top or get close to WoWs numbers, but i don't think it'll crash anytime soon, in my opinion anyway.

Either way, thats your opinion, and opinions don't shift easily over the net, so i will not try to convince you otherwise, but in my opinion it won't crash, at least not anytime soon.

But going by past mmo's failing doesen't mean this will fail. It's simply to early to say, in afew weeks/months prehaps then.

Anything right now is just predictions, you may be right or you may not, either way it's still just fabrication.

It will "survive" in MMO hell, with Rift, Age of Conan, Warhammer, etc.

That doesn't mean it did well, though

you answered yourself here- War - it never had the forums because they knew it would flop- guess history is repeating itself.
Huh?
