try running launcher as administrator (right click, properties, "compatibily" tab, check run as adminstrator)

fixed some issues for me!

Greetings durxl,

If you are getting stuck at the splash screen, the following fix may help.

Please close the client and go to this location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic

Please run the FixLauncher.exe file in the above location.

Once this is complete, please start the Launcher again(please ensure that launcher.exe and swtor.exe have Administrator privileges) and run the Launcher repair function.

After this is complete, please login again and try to connect.

Please post here to confirm if this resolves the issue for you.

From my solution I posted earlier today

I had installed SWTOR to my Program Files (x86) in C: drive. Randomly, I decided to move the entire program over to my regular Program Files folder. Next I set the game to run in windowed mode (though im not sure if that had anything to do with it, because it was crashing before in windowed mode). I then made a shortcut from the luancher.exe file to the desktop. Ran the program as administrator and BAM problem solved, loaded up quick right to my character screen.

Hopefully this can help all of you having similar difficulties. I'll be checking back if anyone has any questions. Best of luck !
