Bad idea. Cross server is going to kill the one thing I enjoy about this PvP. Rivalries and seeing the same people is actually really nice.

That's what world pvp is for. Players should not be punished because of their level, the time in which they play the game or any other factors that Bioware allows by blocking off match making features like cross server warzones/flashpoints.

Cross server features did not destroy the wow community, the community itself destroyed it. Cross server features do not breed an elitest ***** type of player - the players themselves do that.

Blacklists never work, rivalries are fun for a day and then most people get bored of seeing the same pre-made group rollstomp them match after match.

A MMO is about so much more than the 1000 or so players on a server.

Brackets are needed, but alot of that is b/c Expertise is only on level 50 PvP gear. BW also inexplicably removed the level 50 PvP Gear that you could buy, and could have prevented much of the facerolling by adding Expertise to the level 20 and 40 gear.

Honestly, I can deal with the level 50s dominating alot more than I can deal with the utterly broken Resolve system that allows Stun Locking and excludes 90% of CC.

Oh no offense taken... well when you join a server in this game it gives a paragraph long explaination of what the type of server playstyle is. I found the descriptions to very accurate and helpful to chose the right option.

Having said that I would naturally assume the one that has open world pvp and labeled a pvp server would give me the greatest odds of joining a community more interested in pvp in general.

The OP I would guess read this and the others and chose the wrong option... hence should reroll or try to get more into RP and instances and crafting.

You're not going to get a solution this week or next. It's not going to happen. The reroll suggestion was a sincere, valid solution given that the player in question is

1. At cap
2. Playing on a PvE server where... *GASP* PvP isn't apparently a priority for much of the population (and probably never will be).

What else is he going to say?

In another week or two there might be a whole bunch of 50's PvPing their posteriors off on the server in question. There also might not.

He offered a solution. It's not the "Oh I'm so sorry sir, I'll just flip this magic switch over here and enable the cross-server PvP that we've been holding out on" solution you'd like to hear.

PvE players on PVE servers should NEVER be forced into PvP through the actions of greifers. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=159167

i think this is a case where your personal bias helps shape your perception of what you are presented with.

you see pvp, and you assume it's much more pvp-centric.

i'm on a pve server, but my guildies love to pvp, what we do not love, is being forced to pvp when we're not wanting to do it.

we're all adults (late 20s+) and we all have stuff that distracts from the game, so it's nice to be able to afk in the middle of the road to do what you need to, and come back to the game 5 minutes later and pick up where you left off, rather than being a corpse on the ground.

so, i would say what the PvE server offers is not a server focused on PvE, but rather, a server that lets you choose to pvp when you want to.

Why not just let level 50's join the lower level pvp, BUT EXPERTISE IS DISABLED IN THAT BRACKET.... that means if you want to play on a level field, then you can, if you want to play pvp instances, and not enough 50's are on, then you still can, and shouldn't have an advantage from expertise gear.

But all I really do is pvp. Sadly, I'm on a dead server (Nathema). Patch 1.1 is going to have all level 50's in their own pvp queue. There's only a couple level 50's on the server that actually pvp. That means without a cross-server pvp queue I and other level 50's will NOT be able to pvp anymore.

Seriously guys, I'm totally bummed out over this.

It's bad enough that I cannot do any of the Ilum war dailies because the Republic never goes there to cap the bases back. Now I won't even be able to pvp in warzones...

Ahhhhh, my heart bleeds for you.
