By lvl 25, my body-type 4 smuggler should be able to slim down from all the running.

And then be fat again a few levels after he gets his speeder.
eagerly awaiting patch day

I was surprised appearance re-customization wasn't in at launch. There's nothing wrong with wanting to fix something that looked better at character creation than it does in game.

Especially with the cocked up textures.

My Guardian have a beard that looked decent in creation but looks godawful with a hood up, and since there's no /hood command I just look like a fool all the time.

I'd pay good money for a change, or a barber shop - just let me shave my beard FFS!

with how bad the Character creation and customization was since beta, they should seriously step up on adding new features and allowing people to adjust for either really cheap, or for free the first time just to accomidate how bad it really is at the moment.

Can you not just make a character that you like when you go to the character creation screen?

If it is a heavy paid thing with a monthly timer or something I can see it being ok in my books, but otherwise ***. Learn to live with mistakes and stop being such babies.
It's difficult to judge how body type in particular will end up looking in gear as you level up. I for one created a male character with body type 3 and while it looked appropriate at the character creation screen, it's now become comical as I've been leveling him up. My biggest complaint is that most boots make him look like he's got clown feet.

While I agree that perhaps major changes (body type, race, etc.) shouldn't be allowed frequently, they should be allowed at some cost, be it money and/or time. Minor changes such as hair and jewelry should be allowed more frequently at a much lower cost of money and/or time IMHO.

Immersion also comes from being satisfied with your character's appearance and not being forced to play a character that doesn't fit your desired look and feel. After playing a character much past lvl 20, not everyone is willing to ditch that time and effort to re-roll.

Everyone wants this in every mmo. And every Dev is blind to it.

Never understood why Devs are so obstinate about a feature everyone would love to have. Vanity is one of the biggest reasons people spend so much time on their characters. By not allowing players to change their looks, etc, Devs lower the market potential of their game.

Games that cater to vanity do very well, those that don't are relegated to niche status.

My thoughts exactly. It is so important to enjoy your character and this game is not suitable for rerolls due to vanity since you're forced to go through the exact same content to catch up, rather than sandbox MMOs where you could always do something else instead.

That is why 'that other MMO' gets alot of love, and not just from the RP purists.

well there are already face changers in the game.

but it's a quest line. Where you infiltrate this doctor's face changing setup.

so the idea of face changing is already in game.

it's just not allowed for the character yet.

but I think it was one of the first quests on Nar Shadaa i think where you had to see a face changer doctor.

Actually, City of Heroes has this option since I was playing it 4 years ago, as well as CO & STO, where you can sometimes get a free tailor token or pay in the gaming currency to change the look of your character/toon etc. I would like the option to at least change my smuggler's blaster to black or gun-metal grey etc instead of white, or in the case of the same character, I didn't realize in the closeup shot during talking with others, he had the Appearance of a dirty face with goggle marks that I didn't catch in the beginning, or sometimes I have a look and want to change the colours of the outfit because I have a look in mind when RP-ing.. just my opinion
